Om Radio invites the music community to contribute to a weekly mix series that explores immersive sound journeys whilst exploring the depths of one chosen label. 

The series welcomes ambient, downtempo, deep and low frequency genres whilst encouraging artists to explore bridges between the ambient and club dance music spaces with faster genres, pushing boundaries and sharing their unique sonic expression. The mix will feature all week on our website and played in the studio. 

In return, each artist receives 3-week unlimited pass on Om Being to explore movement and experientially understand how an embodied awareness can positively impact their work and wellbeing.

The label I chose as my focus and inspiration for this mix is Thailand-based Siamese Twins Records. In its own words, it is “a home for authentic, tribally rooted sounds introducing Asian artists and creating symbiotic dialogues with producers around the globe.” I am deeply inspired by this label’s fusion of traditional instrumentation and musical motifs from across Asia with trance-influenced sounds.

Siamese Twins artists featured in this mix are Temple Rat, Sunju Hargun, and Mogambo (Sunju’s collaboration with multi-instrumentalist Jerom Doudet), alongside tracks that felt in tune with the distinct atmosphere this label cultivates.

On Mogambo: “Mogambo knit together a heady, hypnotic sound from the many enigmatic strands of Asia’s musical cultures: the deep traditional instrumentations of Siam and India, the high-tech edge of modern Bangkok, and the rich Goan bloodline of trance. The results are both otherworldly, yet instantly comprehensible.”

On Temple Rat / Mei Yuxin: “Hailing from Chengdu, Mei is a master of the traditional Chinese Erhu, a two-stringed folk instrument made of wood and snakeskin. The soulful resonance of this time-honored instrument intertwines with Mei's productions and live performances.”

DJ Secretory, primarily known as Monika Seta, expresses her deep love for electro and intense music through her new alias. Maria Paskevic brings her fast-paced experience from the techno clubs, where she’s known for her versatility in playing multiple genres.

The idea to combine their experiences was sparked while drinking a cup of coffee together. This mix integrates their diverse musical backgrounds and creates an exciting journey ahead.

Pushing the boundaries a bit further this time, WC7 is welcoming the gays and theys. Perfectly suited for your naked body’s temperature, this Balearic soul, 4th world enthusiast and weird-wave seeker is here to really mess you up. Firmly rooted in cosmic, kraut, and tropic dance heritage, he cruises for any well-crafted and uncanny melodies that induce melancholic euphoria. You’ll hear it here first.
 
Hailing from Serbia where he left a confused havoc on the dancefloor for years, then left for Shanghai where he’s playing at it’s finest, Elevator, All, Heim and Alter parties.
 
The circus is in town, act accordingly.

Balearic soul, 4th world enthusiast and weird-wave seeker. Firmly rooted in cosmic, kraut, and tropic dance heritage, he cruises for any well-crafted and uncanny melodies that induces melancholic euphoria. Deep into Yugoslavian gems, and oddball from all around, he plays depending on the occasion but mostly with the same ingredients – tropic percussion, woodwind and brass, sleazy synths, atmospheric vocals, early and contemporary electronica.   

As part of Putnik crew in Belgrade, Serbia, he hosted and played with sonic wackos like Beau Wanzer, Aïsha Devi, André Pahl, Nightmares on Wax, Vladimir Ivković. For the last 5 years he is based in Shanghai and he hosted yearly event Orthodox Tempo in club All.

宀 is the Chinese Radical 40 with a different pronunciation according countries. It has no literal meaning but can be likened to a roof or shelter. This is a place where you can express yourself freely. This place is for dancing. This is a place to learn. This is safe space where you will not be harassed, discriminated, criticised or harmed emotionally or physically. This is a place where all Races, Genders and Sexual identities are welcome. To safeguard this vision, there will be a no-photo policy applied inside the club.

宀 has been imagined by a group of music and audiophile enthusiasts who have chosen a Funktion One soundsystem in a room carefully engineered by one of the region's leading experts in acoustics.
