Julien Veniel, artist name D’Julz, is undoubtedly a true craftsman behind the decks going beyond mere genres and trends, actively shaping the ever-changing soundscape of electronic music through his own productions, DJ performances and parties. 
With a career spanning over two and a half decades, D’Julz has practically done it all. He began spinning in Paris, often playing his home city’s much-talked about early 90’s raves and legendary clubs, all before moving to New–York in 1993 to further hone his skills and cement his reputation as a true taste-maker in his field. The rest, as they say, is history.

A gifted curator of music whose pedigree has earned him a loyal international following and a constant tour schedule which sees him travel the worlds major cities every week playing the best venues they have on offer. Not to mention the infamous Circoloco (DC10) where he has held a residency for 7 years, taking charge of the main room and the world-renowned red terrace room several times each summer season. Each set demonstrates his uncanny ability to weave his penchant for dub elements into the house and techno sphere and rocking the floor with potent groove and sultry rhythms. 
Since D’Julz started producing he has been responsible for a long list of tracks and remixes that have become essential weapons in the record boxes of the world’s DJ elite. His music has been signed to some of the world’s finest underground labels – Circus Company, Robsoul, Ovum, Rekids and more. As his Bass Culture label goes from strength to strength, clocking over 60 releases, he recently started a new label called JV recordings with the Yoyaku crew.

D’Julz remains as enthusiastic as he was when he first started DJing and continues to traverse the globe rocking dance floors every weekend. Without doubt a true legend and one who continues to be at the top of his game now and forever.

DJ Mix #390: M.A.N.D.Y. Recorded Live at Rex Club, Paris [2015/France]

In Hour 2 we hand over to Locked Groove who recently released on Kompakt’s Speicher series and did a remix for Sebastian Voigt on Outcast Oddity. Since his debut on Scuba’s Hotflush label in 2012, he's also released on Life and Death, Permanent Vacation, Afterlife and his eponymous label Locked Groove records. He'll be playing at ADE for DGTL & Kompakt on 21st October and he had this to say about his mix;
"I made this mix in 2 parts because I wanted to play something else than just the stuff I´d play in a club environment. Every track feels like something from outer space to me and thats also the generally idea and theme of the the mix. Tracks that are from the future or from outer space. In the first Part it´s mostly new tracks and a few unreleased bits by myself. I´ll let you find out where they are. The second part is old and new stuff. Some tracks are personal favorites for years, some are becoming favorites. I hope you enjoy it "

MOTTO Podcast is a podcast series by me, Miia Magia and It's linked to the label Motto Sono that I run together with Mr Barth. All the tracks are handpicked in Helsinki mainly from Scandinavian artists and labels with their upcoming, fresh & already classic house and techno releases. The first hour is selected by me, starting with groovy house and continuing towards moody and hypnotic techno. The mix includes also tracks from the latest and forthcoming Motto Sono releases by Zoe Xenia and Beth Alana. 

On the second hour it's time for a guest mix from Amsterdam based @ZoeXenia . Her groovy mix is made of 100% her own productions and includes  her latest Motto Sono release ”My Heart Sings”.
Zoe's productions are marked by a distinct hybrid of funk, melodies and cool bass lines, married in harmony with her soulful voice, both as a lead vocal and as an instrument itself.

Starting with her pure love for music, collecting records and clubbing lead Miia Magia to become one of the pioneering female figures in the Finnish club scene. Her musical journey took her through 90's UK alternative rock and 00's Nu Disco & House, finally arriving in today's classic Deep House and Techno.

DJ'ing all over Finland, organizing parties and working residencies at legendary Helsinki clubs such as Semifinal, mbar and DTM also made her a strong character in the LGBTQ+ scene, leading the Helsinki Pride parade for several years in a row. Invitations kept coming to Estonia, Spain and Sweden to play alongsides some of her favourite artists like Axel Boman, Cari Lekebusch, DJ Hell, Sister Bliss, Proteus, Orion and Roberto Rodriguez. Miia best describes her own style of playing as "deep and moody, sharp and groovy".

Living and breathing the Stockholm underground club and rave scene between 2015-2019 refined her skills as a DJ and ignited the start of her own label with Mr. Barth (aka. Cari Lekebusch). Motto Sono Records is now actively and comprehensively representing art and deep emotional grooves for the demanding DJ and audience with the motto "the only good system is a sound system”.
