The second part of the FORTE Remixes of Pan-Pot’s critically acclaimed collection of singles from 2023 is a sonic journey of reworks by four remarkable remixers: Reinier Zonneveld, Sama’ Abdulhadi, Ramon Tapia and Nojre, each reimagining Pan-Pot's iconic tracks with their unique flair.

Reinier Zonneveld's remix of "UTOPIA" immerses listeners in a fusion of classical finesse and relentless techno essence. Infusing the track with epic melodies and pounding warehouse beats, Zonneveld crafts a mesmerizing experience, presenting what he’s best known for. Mysterious lead intertwine with a gummy bassline, while a deep male vocal commands the break, culminating in a tension-filled drop. Following, Sama Abdulhadi's remix of "PROTO" pulses with a psytrance-like energy, showcasing her distinctive perspective as the first Palestinian DJ on the international stage. Playful rhythms merge with hypnotic basslines, accompanied by intriguing modulated vocals and dynamic rally car sounds. The third remix is by Ramon Tapia, who returned to Second State after his track on the prestigious SUM series, delving into the darker shadows of techno with his rework of "PROTO". Haunting lead melodies and deep male vocals resonate amidst siren wails and crunchy percussion, building tension before the explosive drop. Industrial- like percussions and a stomping kick drive the track create an immersive, atmospheric experience. Closing the chapter is Nojre's rework of "CORE“. The young producer, who recently had his debut EP on Second State, blurres the lines between techno and house, delivering a quintessential techno cut with melodic percussive basslines and dominant leads. Dubfire & Flug team up for the ‘Magma’ two-tracker on CLR.

Dubfire & Flug join forces for the ‘Magma’ EP on Chris Liebing’s CLR imprint, landing 27th September 2024. The EP marks SCI+TEC boss and Deep Dish legend Dubfire’s debut on CLR, with Argentinian techno lynchpin Flug returning to the label for the first time since his ‘Sincrodestino’ EP in 2014.

Dubfire & Flug’s ‘Magma’ EP on CLR starts with the title track, which sees crackling dub hits echo up top whilst deep low-end courses beneath its steady groove. ‘Magma’ is a raw and overwhelming force destined for late nights on powerful systems, enthralling dancers with its cavernous drops and frenzied soundscapes. ‘Friction’ then eases us in with whirring, electrifying acid as distant synths inch closer, culminating in a shadowy and hypnotic warehouse cut. With the ‘Magma’ EP, Dubfire and Flug provide us with a set of tracks perfect for peak time, which are guaranteed to create unforgettable high-impact dance floor moments.

Founded by influential techno lynchpin Chris Liebing in 1999 and reemerging in 2021 after a five-year hiatus, Create Learn Repeat (CLR) has hosted a range of artists like DEAS, Shlomi Aber, Drumcell, Truncate and more while also focussing on developing newer acts in the scene such as B. Riley, The Southern, and Klint.

If you think of the UK’s best techno’s most prolific techno labels, Soma Quality are right there at the top. For the last 25 years Slam’s imprint has put out consistently killer music from some of 4/4’s most leading edge producers, with the likes of Funk D’Void, The Black Dog, Surgeon and Schatrax all making frequent appearances across the imprint’s back catalogue. 

One of their more recent signings is Rebekah, the Birmingham-born producer who first cut her teeth DJing in the late 90s. After a busy touring schedule early on in her career she became a part of Chris Liebing’s CLR label, before Soma picked her up for an EP in 2015. Earlier on this year, they also put out her debut LP Fear Paralysis, an album spanning the breadth of contemporary techno.

Rebekah’s next drop on Soma will be an EP of remixes from Fear Paralysis, with the likes of Slam and JoeFarr reworking some of the album’s best cuts. With their return to Farringdon just around the corner this Saturday, Slam sent us over their hard-hitting remix of Rebekah’s Code Black to premiere ahead of their appearance.
