With his debut artist album officially arriving to stores in a fortnight, American sensation Dan Sieg (of Dan & Sam) has undoubtedly emerged as one of the leaders of Silk Royal. A thrilling series of releases by Dan in the proceeding months begins with "No Way Back Up", the first single from his forthcoming "A Sense Of Wonder" artist album. Dan has never shied away from writing emotive vocal anthems; his past Dan & Sam hit "Walls", featuring Maxx Hennard, proved to be one of the most supported singles in the history of our imprint. It is our great joy to present a new collaboration between Dan and Silk veteran duo Illuminor, who not only have been producing trance & progressive hits of their own of late, but who also are capable of writing and performing breathtaking vocals.

In "No Way Back Up", a gentle breakbeat slowly picks up steam, while a variety of bell-tinged hooks and other supporting melodies contribute a lush soundscape. The patient crescendo ultimately culminates into a stunning chorus by Michael Ware of Illuminor, who sings of the tragic dissolution of a relationship. Michael profoundly delivers the metaphor of a fall too painful and far, from which to recover.

We've been waiting patiently to present Sam Davies' debut Silk Music release for some time now, as a pair of tracks by the Toronto-based talent was previewed on our "Silk Royal Showcase 05" compilation, back in September 2015. These two uplifting cuts, "Sunbound" and "Unwind", are now joined by "Cosmos", an equally memorable offering. From uplifting progressive to after-hours chillout, Sam's extraordinary 3-track EP offers a flavor for all tastes.

The release kicks off with "Sunbound", a peak-hour melodic progressive gem, in the "classical" tradition of the genre. Specifically, an uplifting chord sequence is joined by radiant pads and an inspiring vocal motif. The track continues to crescendo toward the breakdown, where we are treated to a stripped down piano and vocal solo. After a short progressive breaks interlude, the climactic drop leaves the listener in a state of rapture.

The subsequent cut, "Cosmos", features a deep and dark bassline groove, as well as a variety of deep, evocative, and occasionally otherworldly melodic themes. Ethereal pads and an exceeding beautiful, world music-inspired vocal highlight the unforgettable breakdown.

Finally, "Unwind", which served as Tom Fall's intro to his "Silk Royal Showcase 05" mix, returns the listener to the Balearic vibes that are established in "Sunbound". However, rather than closing out the EP with a 4/4 dance track, Sam treats us to a mellifluous, sun-kissed chillstep masterpiece. Heavenly pads and gorgeous piano themes play prominently in this relaxing and life-affirming tune.

'New Dawn' carries on the delicate theme of warm and soothing sounds, again rife with various chord progressions that meld in with the gentle yet uplifting vibe of the production. It emits in the language of music exactly how one would depict a new day starting with their own eyes, that is how beautifully powerful this arrangement is.

meHiLove has been a cherished contributor to progressive since the very beginning of this decade; in fact, his first offering to our imprint was back in June 2011. We are delighted to present a new two-track EP by the Ukrainian melodic maestro. 

The release kicks off with "Solace," which Max Flyant initially teased on his "Only Silk 04" mix last year. Throughout the composition, a light, retro-tinged bassline is punctuated by relaxing vocal stabs, as well as a heavily filtered, yet sunny piano theme, which eventually unfurls. Overall, as the track title implies, the main melodic and atmospheric themes conspire to create a serene and deeply comforting ambience. If the universal greeting of "good morning" were to be accompanied by a soundtrack, this song would prove a worthy candidate. 

The gorgeous B-side, "Airy," finds meHiLove in vintage form. Specifically, lush melodies, infected with a just a hint of melancholy, pour over the listener, as a slightly more uptempo progressive house groove begins to take shape and slowly crescendo. In the main break, a soothing piano theme is introduced, which leads into the drop (alongside a delicious arpeggio), very much to hypnotic effect.

Solace

meHiLove - Solace

Light and rousing sound of «Chasin Joe» returns the romanticism of the 70-s and 80-s into the present times. Despite the fact that the single is being released in the winter, it sheds exceptionally warm and sunny feeling. The melody is emphasized with the bass line and distinct rhythm, adding soft and hypnotic atmosphere into the track. It is amplified by the sounds of marimba and cosmic pads intermingled with sustained breakdowns and retro-styled drum rolls.

 Feu d’Or managed to come to an agreement on a remix by Jody Wisternoff during their very first personal meeting. As soon as the highly titled Briton heard the original version of “Chasin Joe”, he immediately took choice – to let the remix be! Jody added aeriality and dancefloor- friendling to the original mix, as well as some kind of guitar strings plunks and loads of chattering and snapping sounds along with highly unexpected tones. Vocal samples provided that particular charm to the remix which creates an illusion of a pursuit of fictional and elusive Joe whose name is in the single title. The track became more energetic but, at the same time, kept its melodiousness, turning any club where it is being played into Ibiza-style disco.

The man behind a la French alias Feu d’Or is the Russian producer Fyodor Yaminsky. His biography is yet not that full of remarkable facts, but the first career steps in electronic dance music already caught attention of some big names in the industry. Fyodor already gained their support of his track «Singapore» released last summer and was well received by the community of progressive fans. The name of Jody Wisternoff needs no further introduction – he is half of the legendary duo Way Out West and Feu d’Or’s long-awaited track was awarded specifically Jody’s remix.

The second single of Intricate Records catalogue, «Chasin Joe» by Feu d’Or, will be released on March 12, 2012. It will be available for public on Beatport.
