played a long set on Sunday  @ the formidable tent floor of the french art collective "Fer à Coudre", located in the center of a triangle of Luftschloss/Datcha/Palast der Republik. In front of it u could peek out a cute airplane with moving bird wings. Like in the years before we had  great fun together. Big thanks to everybody involved and to all people dancing and celebrating together.  I started around 10.30 and played until 15.30. This is the first part of the recording. The second part was also rocking with a lot of gipsy house and fine grooving techno but the recording failed... so enjoy what is here ...

✔️ What are your musical Influences?

From my roots there was a lot Rock, Funk, Reggae, Fusion Jazz and World Music..I was a huge fan of Frank Zappa, Can and The Doors.
Later i fanced Punk Rock, AfroBeat, Hip Hop and Drum & Bass.
When it came to electronic Music I liked tripped out stuff like Future Sound of London and Simon Posford and I still love the instrumental Trip Hop of the 90s.
I collected fine vinyls for a long time and started dj-ing from a wide spectrum of different genres.
Later I fell in love with Organic Deep House and Downtempo and they became for me a kind of home base.
I like also to play straighter dance music with Techno styles, Nu Disco and Afro & Progressive House.
Sometimes I feel I develop in too many different genres, but I can’t help it.

✔️ What makes a good Afterhour?

For me its about a certain feeling, a feeling of unity with the people around. Having partied and danced through nights and maybe days, gone through stories of ups and downs, released some energy and feeling a bit tired and relaxed but smiling. At its best arriving in a kind of flow state from which it’s easy to connect. For the music there are many possibilities, depend if the mood is more chill or there is energy to dance. Perfect time for old pearls and great edits.

✔️ Thoughts about the Set and Club:

The Barfuß Sunday at Beate Uwe starts at 18h and you are dancing with your feet on soft carpets to downtempo music. It definitely offers a cozy Afterhour feeling, with people very motivated to dance and many of them fresh and not wasted from the weekend. I really love to play here and I started midnight after Sahra Bass who shaked and bounced it already. I played a very danceable set with good bass pressure, keeping it compact but divers to explore different moods with excursions into psychedelic soundscapes and some smockin´guitar riffs. For the Dj the Rane Mixer is a kind of challenge: No filters, no effects, no faders, just 3 EQ knobs to do the mixing. I understand why many Djs use their own controllers there. It took me some time to get trust in the Rane because it feels a bit like mixing naked but the sound is crisp, clear and powerful.

One week of collective madness on the "Acker of Lärz" and it was a full blast again, what a ride! 
This is my recording from Fusion Neuland Floor. It started 3 am on Sat Night/ Sunday morning and we were all more than happy that the rain finally came to an end and the night went bright again. People were in dancing mood and ready to take off...🔥 🚀🚀🚀🔥
I prepared a special set which is very percussive and tribal drums oriented with excursions to Afrotech and spiced up with tropical flavors. Hope u enjoy it as much as me & the dancing crowd.
Huge thanks to all who created this fusion, the Kulturkosmos, Neuland & Firespace Crew and to all dancers, musicians, visual, light & performing artists.

I am a Berlin based DJ  playing a variety of styles, genres and tempi of electronic dance music. Organic Downtempo works for me as a kind of home base.  
For the Plurpura Kapoli Colors mixtape  I took  love and care  to prepare a timeless mix with a feeling of an homage to the host. I like a consistent story, neatly woven and mixed in harmonic keys, which is guiding you through different moods, rhythmic patterns and soundscapes to explore.
It’s made for sofa surfing and slow dancing and works its way from 75 to 95 bpm.

I recorded the mix during my  winter escape journey in the Dominican Republic. There are great views of the Atlantic Ocean from my friends house on a hill with  a lush green tropical garden.
Beautiful birds, lizards and lots of baby geckos are around to spot.
And many kitesurfers on windy beaches on turquoise waters.
When listening to the mix you might  see the kites racing and flying over the waves  or travel through other vast landscapes or cosmic spaces.
I kept the mix evolving in positive moods and mostly instrumental style. 
Crispy rhythms, warm basses and some catchy melodies are provided.     
Dancing is welcome. Just empty your mind and enjoy the journey.
