The sound of the owl in nature to start off was refreshing to hear as it transition into the music. 

Owl Magic represents a deep connection with wisdom and intuitive knowing. The invitation for this dance is to tap into your ability to see what’s usually hidden to most. Use the vision of the owl as a metaphor to see into the depths of the dark night as we enter the winter solstice.   

When the spirit of the Owl calls to you, you will see reality beyond illusion, self-doubt and confusion. The owl offers inspiration and guidance necessary to deeply explore the mystery and magic of your personal transformation. The cycles of life, death and rebirth move within each of us.   

What in your life is dying away? What in your life is ready to give birth? 

When the owl shows up in your life - pay attention. It often calls for your radical transformation.

This dj set was originally played at the Asheville Movement Collective on 12/20/2019, and was then later re-recorded by me on 12/25/2019 with some minor adjustments to song arrangement. A beautiful altar honoring the Owl was created by Arulu, Connor and Phoenix.

MIKAYA (Micah Swabb) is an Ecstatic Dance DJ and facilitator for cathartic dance events. He has a deep understanding of set arrangements for drug-free dance events, yoga classes and ceremonies through his 12+ years of experience. MIKAYA’s mixes inspire meditation through movement in ways that widen the scope of one's self-awareness and self-expression.

His mixes use a wide variety of musical genres like global bass, tropical house, techno, glitch hop, downtempo, classical and ambient. These musical journeys begin peacefully, build momentum and contrast, and then land softly with resolution and grace. MIKAYA also produces mash-ups and mini-mixes in various genres. He teaches people how to make world class ecstatic dance mixes both from his home in Asheville, NC and virtually online.

MIKAYA has shared the stage with Osiah, Illusions of Duality, Purrriestess, The Human Experience, Ean Golden, David Starfire, Random Rab, Momentology, and DJ Dragonfly to name a few. He has played at festivals like Burning Man, Beloved Festival, Source Maui, and Element 11.
