Awe man! I love this song!  I love the tension in the lyrics and the voice.  It puts in a bluesy mood, expressing things that seem to be unexpressable and saying it "just" right.  The artist definitely understands how life has so many contradictions and challenges, but we all still reach for the best, regardless.  Nice job!

It started with a riff, in drop D. Everytime I picked up the guitar I started playing that riff, couldn't help it. Only way to get it out of my system was to make a song of it. A friend listened and said it sounds like Bon Jovi. Bastard. Why didn't he say Deep Purple or Led Zeppelin? :)

For lyrics I rewrote a beautiful, more than 200 years old, poem by S.T. Coleridge to make it a bit more contemporary and suit the structure of the song. You think the lyrics are corny? Here's the idea: A young person sitting by a mirror-like pond or stream, seeing wonderful things reflected in the surface. The water is disturbed by a stone or something and the young person's sad that all these beautiful images are ruined. But Coleridge encourages him/her to be patient... It's been said that he wrote this poem under heavy influence of laudanum, a pretty heavy drug. Isn't that rock n roll? :) 

It' has not been established whether http://soundcloud.com/john-hollingum was on drugs or not when recording the wonderful latin sounding solo for this track, but he sure was inspired! http://soundcloud.com/pelle-baeck is a doctor, so I'm sure he's got access to all kind of stuff at work. And he would definitely have done an even better job had we recorded in his studio. Anyway. GREAT work, both of you. Thanks!!
