MPEG (Melz/Prigodich/Erskine Group) -- Featuring Mike Prigodich (piano), John Nastos (sax), Damian Erskine (bass), Reinhardt Melz (drums), Rafael Trujillo (congas). The video quality isn't great using my old Zoom Q3 (not the HD version, just a single camera angle), but I merged in a mix from the board recording so it sounds pretty good considering we haven't rehearsed for over a year.

Thanks to Tony Stovin for running sound that night and recording the gig with his Pro Tools rig. Thanks also to David Mathew for mixing the raw tracks to get things sounding as good as possible (EQ, volume levels, panning, and other magic tricks).

Michael Brecker, turgido ed espressivo più che mai. I fidi specialisti incaricati di scandire il ritmo - Warren Bernhardt (piano), Vinnie Colaiuta e Steve Gadd (batteria), Eddie Gomez (contrabbasso), Marcus Miller (basso elettrico) etc. - si limitano a srotolare ai piedi del virtuoso un tappeto quasi trasparente (eccezion fatta per lo splendido intermezzo su Nightwings). Le stupende melodie di Ogerman evocano atmosfere oniriche, ambigue, suggestive. In questo senso, tema e assolo di In The Presence And Absence Of Each Other (Part 1) definiscono un memorabile classico al di sopra dei generi.
