Uncle Violet - Been All Around This World

This is a study in composing with acoustic beats. I recorded five electric guitars, all droning the note "D" with an eBow (electronic guitar bow). Each note is slightly retuned to create acoustic beats against the main drone. The idea is for the different tracks to have related and hierarchical rhythmic relationships (quarter note, eighth note, sixteenth note at 120 BPM) because of the relative speed of their acoustic beats. 
The experiment was partially successful - the beats seem to come and go, even if the tuning is stable, and they also seem to mask each other at times. It is also very difficult to get the tuning keys precisely at the right beat speed. Beat Study 2 may be for synthesizer.
