Dov Joseph Elkabas (Amsterdam, November 5, 1968) aka DJ The Prophet is a Dutch-Israeli DJ and music producer. He is considered one of the founders of hardstyle music, one of his nicknames is therefore: 'the Godfather of Hardstyle'. He is also the founder and owner of the largest hardstyle label, Scantraxx Recordz.

Dov Elkabas is a self-taught musician and entrepreneur (he says he "never finished school"). He started playing professionally in 1983, after he convinced the owner of the Amsterdam nightclub Het Nijlpaardenhuis to appoint him as a resident DJ. He bought better turntables and started experimenting.

Later he ended up at the Amsterdam hip-hop discotheque Akhnaton, and produced the first records of the Osdorp Posse, among other things. In 1991 he started The Dreamteam with DJ Dano, Buzz Fuzz and Gizmo. This group played a pioneering role within the then still relatively unknown gabber and hardcore. Later, however, he started to focus more on hardstyle and other styles. His productions have been released on vinyl and CDs on labels such as ID&T and Q-dance, among others. His music mainly changed to 150 beats per minute. He founded the record label Scantraxx Recordz in 2002. In 2014 his first regular album was released under his own name, Louder. Dov's roots lie in Israel and Amsterdam, the city where he was born. In an interview in 2009, he stated that he has many relatives in Israel, including his mother, sister, uncles, aunts, cousins.

On August 2, 2022, Dov announced that after 35 years as a DJ and music producer, he will retire in 2023 and focus on a new creative career.
