Project and record label from Riga that is about rave, queers and acid music.

Queer on Acid are two old friends and partners from Riga who discovered house music back in the 1990s. After many years in music they decided to form a project and record label with a hooligan title – ‘Queer on Acid’, which is about the queer culture and the electronic music to which they belong. 

After debuting on self-titled label with “Bed Drama” EP and “Lilly’s Boobs”, they remixed Walker & Royce’s smash “Fetish” for Amber Muse, and now build a connection with Shadow Child and Kry Wolf’s new imprint Takeout (Food Music sister label). In November of 2020 they put out a double A-Side vinyl recorded with the legendary Robert Owens and delivered another EP in September of 2021. 

Their collaborative Queer On Acid x Taran & Lomov “New Path” EP came out in August on 2021 on the legendary Ovum Recordings, while another “Short Cut” EP have dropped on Kneaded Pains in late 2021. 

New Queer On Acid music will surface in the Spring of 2022: their dance floor ready remix of TERR’s production “Bring the Future” comes out on Clash Lion, and the next four-tracker “Cruising” EP – on Catz ‘n Dogz’ Step Records.

Today, hyperconected communities, AI-driven processes, quantum computer clusters and socio-cultural progress share their time and space with ghosts of the past, geopolitical spasms and gestures of profound violence. In a time when we seek new definitions, what constitutes a territory? What does a map show/ explain? What are we and what are the boundaries of who we want to be?

Romanian-born, Berlin-based Cosmin Nicolae and Simina Oprescu ask questions of a diasporic tone, in a sonorous quest to map out issues and entertain reflection. Australian-born, Berlin-based artist Michael Tan tackles norms using generative, traditional and emerging technologies providing the visual component of the Map x Territory experience. 

Simina Oprescu is a composer and multidisciplinary artist from Bucharest, Romania. She graduated the Dynamic Image and Photography Department at the Bucharest National University of Arts and studied at the department of acousmatic composition at the Royal Conservatory of Mons (Belgium) for one year. She is currently residing in Berlin, continuing her studies at the UdK’s M.A - Sound Studies and Sonic Arts.

Cosmin Nicolae is an anti-disciplinary artist working with image, sound, text to produce works of intimate reflection at the intersection of autoethnography, psychogeography and possible futures. Kate’s impeccable mixing has been an inspiration to many aspiring selectors and has seen them become a resident of 4our, also playing at other local Sydney parties such as Darkroom, IF?, The House of Mince and Charades.Andrew Wowk, who also produces under his alias End User Licence Agreement, has been active in the Sydney music community for 20 years, and counts amongst his greatest achievements having had at least 20 memes approved in the ‘Worst Techno Memes Ever Page’. Andrew has received international recognition for both his DJing and production, and his prowess has led to him being featured on a number of the most prestigious events throughout Sydney and Australia.Check out their mix which was performed using two turntables, three CDJs, two mixers and a laptop to a resoundingly positive reception.You can catch more of each of these amazing artists here:

With over 33 years experience spinning all over Victoria and featuring at all major parties and clubs throughout Melbourne with is roster full with weekly, fortnightly and monthly residences at The Espy, The Joint Bar, Lucky Coq & Glamorama ....

Matty Radovich is one of the founding members of the Infamous MTC Crew (Melbourne techno collective). MTC have been a corner stone in the Melbourne techno scene and have been running for over 22 years now. Due to the success that MTC has had. Matty has then gone onto support the likes of Aphex Twin, Laurent Garnier, Juan Atkins, Orbital live, Galaxy 2 Galaxy and Timeline (Underground Resistance), Marco Carola, Surgeon, Planetary Assault System Live, Miss Kittin, Stacey Pullen, Mike Humphries, Sandwell District (Regis & Function), Oscar Mulero, Ricardo Villalobos, Kevin Saunderson, Redshape, Technasia, Cave, Adam Beyer, Justin Berkovi, Derrick May, Kazu Kimira, Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Green Velvet, Carl Cox, Collabs (Speedy J & Chris Liebing), Steve Rachmad, Vitalic, Detroit Techno Militia, Space Djz, Ben Sims and many more at large techno events around Melbourne. MTC parties are based on fun and good music and if you have never been to one, you should get yourself there to see what the fuss is all about.

Matt is also a member of the Stable Music crew. Stable Music is one of the leaders in Melbourne, bringing forward thinking events and electronic music to Melbourne. Stable Music is responsible for bringing Piknic Electronic to Melbourne. They also bring the worlds best TECHNO acts to Melbourne at their Capacity parties. Stable Music has also brought Kubik to Melbourne. They have also worked closely with the Melbourne City council and helping them bring quality events to Melbourne Music Week every year and Matt has been there every step of the way, since Stable Music inception.

Not just restricted to Melb Matty has played all around Australia including Adelaide, Sydney, Gold Coast, Hobart and even Sri Lanka, strange but true! For the last 4 years, Matt was lucky enough to live out one of his life long dreams. He got to play his beloved TECHNO at the home of TECHNO, Detroit USA. Matt was asked by the Detroit TECHNO Militia to play at the Bang Tech 12 Anniversary party. This party is the warm up party to the Movement Electronic Music Festival in Detroit (DEMF - Movement) and Matt got to share the decks with some of the cities and the worlds finest every year.

Matty Radovich has cemented his name in the Melbourne scene with guest spots at the largest festivals in Australia for example festivals including Creamfields, V Festival (Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne), Two Tribes, Good Vibrations, Listen Out, Solar, Stereosonic, Kiss my grass, Sunshine people, Hardware, Future Music Festival, We Love Sounds, Enchanted Forest and more.

Matty Radovich was fortunate enough to be handpicked to be the support dj for Dj Shadow's Outsider show in Melbourne featuring the Gift of Gab at the Forum. But it doesn't stop there, Matt was also asked to support the one and only Grandmaster Flash, under his alias Mike Hunt. Matt has also been asked to support Common at a Red bull Racing Gala party. Obviously Dj Shadow liked Matty, because Matt was also asked to support Dj Shadow and Cut Chemists together on the Hard Sell tour at their Melbourne leg of their tour of Australia. Matt was also asked to join Dj Shadow and Cut Chemist again at their Melbourne Show of the Renegades of Rhythm tour. Matt was asked to open the show for the infamous Wu Tang Clan. Matt has also supported the likes of many great funk, hip hop, electronic and dance acts like Flying Lotus, Gilles Peterson, Dj Krush, Amp Fiddler, Gaslamp Killer, Clark, Dam Funk, Scuba, Ras G, Africa HiTech, Claude Von Stroke, Hudson Mohawke, Harmonic 313, Platinum Pied Pipers, 2manydjs, just to name a few.
