singing goes a bit wobbly in places - but it don't matter, does it? - lately i just want to let it come out as it does - get a bit nervous when i press record - and don't want to be - would rather it had mistakes but i enjoyed the singing of it - rambling now - still, thanks for listening if you gave it a go -  

wanting to write some more songs after a long while of not doing it - not sure where that feeling goes when it goes - or why it comes back -

TASCAM DR-05

there we are

Written when I had just turned 15 (1982). I had forgotten about it but someone found a tape of me singing it back then. I then purchased a  MacBook in 2020 and decided to record it as a learning exercise/demofor using GarageBand. Naive and simple, but an innocent song for challenging times.
Lyrics:

John the fisherman 

They call me John the fisherman 
And I can be seen every day
Working and risking my life as a fisherman 
Sailing out on the waves

I live in a cottage on a cliff, 
I never move far from the sea
I live on fish and homegrown peas
And sleep with a bible close to me

The only things I respect in my world
Are god and the sea 
For they both have claimed the lives of many who meant so much to me
(I say) I never fall in love any more
I’ve been hurt too many times
 (I tell them) I know all loves pitfalls 
I’ll leave that game to the fools! 

They call me John the fisherman 
They say that I’m so hard to please
I disagree with war and many policies 
And dislike people who criticise me

All my friends and family have long since gone
And I’m left with memories 
Some say I’m mad because I talk to myself 
It’s only because I’m lonely

On this one: I started jamming with xaphoon over nude drums for some days, and neighbours suffered the magical birth of Kabutomushi, which got metamorphosed by some other organic layers to become an adult Rhinoceros Beetle !!

I’m a song-writer who enjoys creating music of any genre.

My son recently introduced me to A.I. and taught me how to do covers of my previously released non-A.I. music. Since I've never considered myself a performer (except playing with worship bands at church or solo-piano at a rehab center) using A.I. is right up my alley.

Since I've  exhausted using my previously released music for A.I. covers, I now compose music in a DAW, rip to a wave file, and make an A.I. cover of this wave file. I then write lyrics to the A.I. music. It takes around 100 A.I. iterations to complete the lyrics and get a style I'm happy with.  

Brief Bio: Lived more than a quarter of my life overseas (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Italy, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan). Each country gave me an appreciation for different types of music plus probably why I get bored easily in sticking with one genre or another.

At home producer of electronic tracks in varying styles - I really enjoy experimenting with melding different genres. 
Been writing songs since the mid 70's whilst playing bass & drums in various bands (the first one was a punk band) and digitally writing since 2006. Retired now, so much more time for having fun with music :) It's just a hobby for me these days; Soundcloud is just a great place to share music & connect with people who have the same interests.  All my recent music is free to download - if you want to download any that don't have a download link, just let me know :)
I appreciate - and love to listen to - all genres, from orchestral through to metal.
