The Christmas Song  w/Carl Ayotte

Back in 1988, my agent called me and asked if I had any song I could play for the WMUR-TV news broadcast that night pertaining to New Years.  I said "No, but I could write one".
This is what I came up with in about 20 minutes or so...

New Year's Song

The main idea for this song came to me as I was pushing my son’s stroller.  We were at EPCOT and the rhythm of the wheels on the walkway got me to start singing the instrumental hook over and over.  (Fortunately, I had a little tape recorder to document it)
    That night, I pretty much finished the song idea – without any guitar to guide me.  I couldn’t wait to get back home to see if the sounds in my head would work as an arrangement.  They did!!
     The song is a confession – so to speak – exaggerated of course.  But the sentiment is true!!  I’ve had many people in my life who have helped me along the way.

The Kindness Of Friends

The frog recording is REAL!!  It was a rainy night in Goffstown, NH and this frog was outside my window “lookin’ for love”.  Thank Gpd I had the where-with-all to record him!!
A song about unrequited love.  However – in this time of quarantine, it takes on a whole new meaning…
