Rhythmic rings and circuits of healing audiophony from a Finnish electronic composer @aleksiperala from his album "Cycles". Aleksi's music is prepared with a special tuning system that eschews traditional Western musical scales in favor of a series of resonant frequencies known as "Kolundi Sequence".

If David Lynch filmed a scene about some wild party, - this is the kind of music that should be playing there. Vintage synths, voices in reverse, noir disco and fatal passion - all this is a mix by @stieber_k. It was recorded at one of the Hybrid Moment parties in Kyiv. «During the party, I tried to create an experience that would hook the listener with my long hypnotic tracks and give them peace and contemplation. Starting with a slow and dark atmosphere, I set myself a task of smoothly transitioning into a more energetic rhythm. Hybrid Moment is a series of parties and community in Kyiv inspired by dark shades of music, slow and heavy beats. The main genres we promote are dark disco, EBM, the dark side of indie dance and italo, new beat, but of course we don't limit ourselves to these genres. To celebrate our first anniversary, we have made the decision to launch a charity compilation that brings together artists from Ukraine and around the world. The primary goal of this compilation is to support musicians who have transitioned from their musical pursuits to join the army and serve as defenders of our country. This initiative is in collaboration with the charitable fund Musicians Defend Ukraine. Here is a roster of the artists involved: A-Tweed, Igor Dieiev ID_UA, dj_2button & Ludviq, Lvcerate, E-bony, Symonenko, Katia Stieber, Hungry Boys, Raido, Vestibular Glow, Motoblok, Clasps, Batacat.

Katia Stieber is one of the two founders of Hybrid Moment and the selector of the Mutation Onset compilation. She is a producer who experiments with musical genres, creating eclectic tracks based on classic arpeggiator basslines. Her style combines tiny elements of electro-clash and post-punk motives, which gives her compositions a special sound. Katya explores the boundaries of genres, combining different eras and moods to create a new, fresh sound that resonates with a modern audience.

Auto-da-fé is my second track, which was born after I decided to work on the compilation. The inspiration was the book Ukrainian Demonology, and I chose a title that refers to the infamous period of the Inquisition, when people were burned at the stake in public. This historical motif resonates with the realities of modern society, but now in the virtual space. This track is about aggression, accumulated fatigue, and suppressed desires that people usually keep inside. It tells about the phenomenon of collective rage, when one person shouts “Burn!” and millions pick up on it, destroying the fates of those trapped in circumstances or situations. This is a story about a modern witch hunt that takes place in the form of virtual campaigns and public condemnation, where lives are destroyed and dreams are shattered.

Hybrid Moment x Pikidrils

We present a new series of hybrid mixes in collaboration with a talented Ukrainian illustrator, art critic and graphic designer Oleksandra Shipilova, who works under the pseudonym Pikidrils. 

This collection of stamps was created as a visual companion to the postcards, which are based on photographs taken during Sasha's trip to Philadelphia. 

The first mix of the series, recorded live at Community Cafe by Katia Stieber, became a new creative challenge for her, expanding the usual boundaries of her musical experimentation. This mix combines broken grooves, African drum and bass rhythms, electro aesthetics and recognizable tracks of this genre, from producers such as London Modular Alliance and Lunar Orbiter Program.
