Tabloid Mania Part 1

When musicians visit most radio stations for an interview we get them to record a quick station ID. At WHTG, we usually got them to record a generic one, one for all of the full-time DJs, a holiday greeting, and maybe a couple of some of the weekend part-time DJs. Here's a montage of musicians who recorded IDs for WHTG circa 1991-1992, during my first year or two as production director there. Some of them are the final versions heard on the air and some of them are the outtakes (certain DJs names were always hard for artists to pronounce, causing inevitable stumbles).

I've been combing through some boxes of audio cassettes recently and digitizing some of the interesting recordings I come across from my 25+ years in the radio business. Some involve me directly, some involve me only indirectly, and a few I have no idea from where they came.
