Phoenix AZ @ 2003 RIP-
Nila was a band formed by a bunch of 20 something teenage-adults who really liked Incubus, deftones, and (insert favorite nu metal band of the day). We had hopes of making it big but it was not meant to be. There were many fights, a doomed tour, and guitar player drama and the band died with a whimper when some decided to move to Los Angeles to give music a different shot. Certain members have gone on to continue their music careers semi- successfully, while others just said fuck it and did other things. Either way it was definitely a learning experience for everyone. I will always cherish the memories and being in this band definitely taught me invaluable lessons about dealing with people in groups, art and commerce, and that god has a plan and doesn't give a fuck all about yours lol. I also learned about sacrifice and that at the time I wasn't ready to make one for my dreams. Oh well the beauty of life is that you have all this time and chances to get back up again and start over.
