A project that I am working on with Carter Graham and Kevin Waters is transcribing, learning, and playing Oscar Peterson's Canadiana Suite, his musical love letter to Canada that he composed in 1964. We love this album - in fact, Place St. Henri was the first serious jazz solo Carter transcribed at age 17. It's the first thing I listen to in the morning and has done more than its fair share accompanying the long drive from Winnipeg to Edmonton. We hope you love it too!

"But... I thought you just played bass". Mostly, but I've played many different instruments over the years and now with the awesome DAWs available and affordable home studio gear, I can compose pretty much anything I like using every instrument I have. These songs represent a small collection of pieces I've put together just for the fun of it. When I play in bands, we typically rock out and while that style of high-energy music is fun, I wanted to keep something on the side that was different, something that was deeply personal that I could call my own. These are the songs I write in those increasingly-rare times when I can just relax in my little studio with a glass of wine and see what comes out. Some are inspired by major life events and others are just from playing around. Enjoy!
