Following 2010’s critically acclaimed debut What We Lose in the Fire We Gain in the Flood and a year on the road touring as part of Bright Eyes, singer-songwriter Laura Burhenn teamed up with producer Richard Swift (The Shins, Richard Swift) again and emerged with GENERALS, a sophomore album fully armed. In place of the Zen meditations found on The Mynabirds’ first album, GENERALS is filled with armies of stomps and claps, sweeping full spectrum orchestrations, and moments that range from intensely personal pleas to shout-out-loud protests with teeth.
GENERALS picked up high praise from The Huffington Post, USA Today, Pitchfork, BuzzFeed, Paste, and many others.  Songs from the album were featured on Rock Center, Gossip Girl, and Grey's Anatomy, while NPR Music counted "Generals" among their Top Songs of 2012.  After over a year dedicated to GENERALS Laura Burhenn is spending 2013 out on the road as a touring member of The Postal Service.  Leading up to the tour, Laura recruited some of her favorite artists to re-imagine tracks from the record and came away with remixes from Dntel (aka Jimmy Tamborello of The Postal Service), Richard Swift, Clark Baechle (of The Faint), and Field Days.  These tracks are collected on a limited edition colored vinyl 12" that includes a free digital download of the full EP along with two bonus remixes.
