Think of those phonecalls where someone says to you, you gotta meet this new person in town. That's what Ricardo told me about Udi. We met, we talked, we vibed and two days later we were all co-creating this first event! We did more, but this was the start of a beautiful journey together. Music for food is something i can not ignore and i absolutely love doing these projects. How to enhance an already uber sensorial experience? That was the challenge.

“Udi & The Beets” Beetroot Edition marks the debut of a new cooking series where chef and nutritionist Udi Barkan shares his culinary journey through the flavors of Portugal, enriched by his extensive experiences from Israel and beyond. Hosted in unique venues, these events feature wholesome food, stunning set designs, and a musical journey curated by Mike Stellar.

In each edition, Udi selects locally sourced fruits and vegetables, creating a vibrant menu that highlights their diverse flavors. His goal is to inspire guests to embrace more seasonal produce in their daily lives and encourage healthier, plant-forward eating throughout the year.

Next event is 22nd September, and the menu will be focused on figs and tomatoes. Exciting!

#FREE DL: Psy Baba - Mystical Journey (3D Camel Mix)

An intersection of original dubs and outernational electronica, Ashtech’s Walkin’ Target, produced and co-written by Gaudi, was originally released in 2007 on cult Canadian label soundcloud.com/interchill and is now presented for the first time on vinyl.

Tightly structured, Walkin’ Target revolves around soundcloud.com/ashtech’s earth rattling basslines and soundcloud.com/gaudi's solid production aesthetic, with three of the tracks featuring the inimitable vocal stylings of Cheshire Cat (Leftfield). A former bass player with Almamegretta, Ashtech’s intuitive style combined with Gaudi’s melodic flair to create a joyful collection of groove orientated roots and downtempo dubs that upon release found a home in the collection of music lovers worldwide.

Long deleted and not available on any mainstream download or streaming platforms, Ashtech dug out the original audio files, which were lovingly re-mastered for this pressing.

Since then he was of the groundbreaking promoters & dj in Portugal, first with some legendary drum&bass parties in Lisbon and then moving to the jazznotjazz scene since 1999, introducing to Portugal people like Jazzanova, Gilles Peterson, Rainer Truby, Nicola Conte, The Amalgamation of Soundz, King Britt, Koop, Kyoto Jazz Massive, and many, many others.

He keeps a good flow of guests coming over balancing the classic with brand new flavours.
