Fancy Footwork is the sub-label of London-based French collective E.S.P Records, who introduce the world to their newly found label with which they want to explore and bring the 90s (rave moments) closer to their audience. The start or rather the starting package comes from Benjamin Nassau, who most people know under his artist moniker Sunaas. The Parisian producer comes in with a four tracker covering the initially mentioned musical approach Fancy Footwork takes and delivers four tracks, which vary between Breaks and 90s House/ Rave influences. But however one wants to categorize the release the four tracker remains what it means to be: a dancefloor weapon. The B1 Funky Blaster therefore is no exception and explores the more break-esque side of music including (genre-typical) HipHop elements and catchy chord-sequences with a slightly bleepy sub-note. Basically Funky Blaster contains and combines all elements for a funky night out in the club dancing yourself away in the "beat of the moment".

FINNEST brings us a new release, "ITS TOO LATE" by Mesquitas & Danny (AT), in its third reference, second of its "Underground Series" division, it is an original cut accompanied by a remix by the talented Philipp Lichtblau. The Original cut is an obvious example of the quality that Rafa and Danny have accustomed us to, very elegant deep house with a super sensual vocal and a subtle rhythm perfect for heating up the club floor at the beginning of the night. In the remix we have Philipp, who after having signed on labels like HedZup or Rendr presents us with a more minimalist version of It's Too Late, with a deeper bassline, a more extended dynamic and a happy groove that makes you move your foot uncontrollably and inevitably. Without a doubt, this maxi is a piece worthy of collecting.

Premiere: 5 - Oden & Fatzo - Sad Donkey [SR002]

Michael grew up in a house where records were always being played. His parents were big Beatles fans, and it really cemented his love of music from an early age.  Like all rebellious teens he developed his own taste in music, RAP for starters much to the dismay of his parents, and would record and edit songs on cassette tape from the radio. From there in the early 90s a radio show called Musicquarium, hosted by Sydney DJ Nik Fish, really grabbed his attention, and so began a love of dance music and mixing.  Across the late 90s and early 2000s he played sets under DJ name Mr Rossi, at some of the original Sydney Sunday Sessions - The Duke of Cornwall, Transition and Sounds on Sunday which is about to celebrate 25 years (2024).  

After a move away from Sydney to the Blue Mountains in the mid 2000s to focus on family and other creative pursuits, he set up his first studio with a few basic elements. Initially using software Reason, started dabbling in making electronic music, not really taking it too serious.  However after switching to Ableton Live and opening up a SoundCloud account to share his music over the past five years, his style has really developed.  Now located in Bathurst with a purpose built studio the creative juices are really flowing and he is enjoying making bouncy house, tech house tunes for all of mankind to enjoy!
