I was shown a cd, so damaged that the recording was thought mostly lost forever as the laminate of the cd had split and large parts of the laser layer were missing altogether, causing the well known uncontrolable ‘stutter’. Tracks 1, 9 and 13 were almost certainly lost completely and would not play at all, but I was pleased to re-capture all 13 tracks, albeit very damaged and thought unreocoverable. I will try to post track one, one of the worst. Sadly, pathetic Facebook makes this quite simple operation almost impossible so I may have to go via Soundcloud or Youtube. Why is the 21st century tech world so screwed? It will be Miss Tanya Miller circa 1983. The very phased keyboard is actually part of the original recording although there is some ‘cleaning side damage’ causing EXTRA phasing. I have not the software to clean further. Tanya sang regularly at the Imperial Hotel, Torquay and seriously out-sang most of the top pros of the era.

I was asked to attempt recovery of tracks on a seriously damaged cd I thought tracks one/nine and 13 were lost forever. but tried, and actually recovered all 13. though they are seriously damaged, overecorded on right channel mainly, and I almost gave up. But despite awful sound track one appeared complete after never getting further than half a verse without stuttering to a halt! The original master is long lost sadly. Tanya Miller (not sure of married name)sang at the Imperial hotel Torquay  in the early eighties so this comes from the very begining of cd recording. But I still think she sings all song better than the original artists.

10.Paint It Black Contraband Six 2006

Last celebration of the history of a very fun band CONTRABAND  6 
Track described as very early live 2002, which would make it borderline 'DUCKSHOT!' rescued by Tom Peters of Sonic Deciso I personally love it though it says 'Littlecote Rally 2' which was basically an unheated barn in Cornwall in sub zero temperatures, I wore a thick coat throughout and still almost died. so playing may be little loose!

2.Oh Well

I had to put this up as I think it may be the only, incredibly rare, existing rough live track of St. Louis Blues. I suspect this is a little earlier than the poster says with Tom on 2nd lead guitar and Dom Giddy on drums, but not sure as file file name gives no indication of date or line up.

5.Red House St Louis Blues

Written originally as a bass/vocal track around 1982 we decided to add the full band. I was a bit nervous as it was live and full of two/three finger chords actually played more like playing a lute!

04 Cross Roads

The song, in fact the actual recording, played on Radio 1 'Talkabout' with John Waters and John Peel. For some reason Mr Peel took it into his head to play it two days running on his late night program I think. Don't know if anyone recorded any of the programmes, just recall John say "Local band from Torquay, near Brixham, were we were today, Arthur's Other Tortoise.  Nice little song, daft name for a band though. "We were Jake Klosin vocals and guitar, Chris Wilde lead guitar, Mike Wilde drums, and little me on bass.

Track 2 Gin in the City

Picked up the bass in 1977 after dabbling in younger years with my brothers guitars. In the early 60s the child liked the idea that someone like Jet Harris could break the rules and play lead patterns on bass. The extraordinary and frightening 'Rave' was almost banned by Jet Harris and Tony Meehan's record producers as too 'Diabolical'... They let the softer 'Diamonds' through. Apart from a five year break when I tried to run a classic car restoration business in the 80s I am lucky to have played with several unbelievable bands. Featured here... And feel so privilaged to have played with frankly elite in musicians in all cases... Now AXE are enjoying themselves playing our little hearts out... I will never join a pub band that just 'goes through the motions' and plays simply all the standards like a glorified juke box. AXE play like we mean it cos... hell .. we like music and, praise be to the Lord, we have 'real music' fans who like the way we do it!...
