Oraghi

This is Side A of "Rice Cooker", the first 20 minute tape in this series. These are Caddywhompus demos done on my own both as a exercise to come up with additional instrumentation/melodies/etc. for the songs, but also so Sean (drummer of Caddy) can get to know these new songs a little better. The first track I had some fun with and recorded some pretty janky percussion and the second is an alternate, toned-town version of the song.
Side B is a ten minute long guitar drone track.

This track explores the use of textures and effects as thematic material as opposed to harmonic or melodic content.  It was certainly a fun, exciting, and challenging cue to score!

Chalk Warfare III (OST)

After listening to a lot of aggressive noise music recently led me to want to make some recordings like this. I got on the drums, wrote a fragment of a song, clung to a tiny idea, and faded in and out of composition and improvisation. I mixed the drums to be incredibly blown out and layered various sounds and drones on top of the recorded drums. They are glued together dynamically : when the drums reach a certain volume, the backing track is boosted in time with the drums. In between tracks there are various snippets of things around me that I recorded on my phone (kid singing in the post office, windshield wipers, old time radio broadcast etc.)
