"Variation to the Almost Infinite" (2014) is an unscored electroacoustic composition featuring acousmatic sound created by the physical and electronic manipulation of amplified objects, layering of audio feedback generated by my electronically-processed accordion, and generative-processing of sampled instruments.

Recorded a storm inside the cabin to the left on the picture. Did not bring heavy recording equipment to record outside. Some metal is making a noise, but the sound of the wind comes through quite nicely.

CONTEXT
Situated between Marseille and the Camargue nature reserve is a zone known as the Étang de Berre, taking its name from the sublime and enormous brackish lagoon that sits at its center. Over the last century, municipalities around the lagoon (Martigues, Fos-sur-mer, Saint-Chamas) along with the French government have invested heavily in petrochemical and energy industries making the area one of the most important economic hubs of France on one hand, and an ecological sacrificial zone on the other. 

Anthropic impacts on this fragile ecosystem from air pollution and soil and water contamination have been only recently gaining attention. Human, plant, animal, and aquatic lifeworlds are entangled socially by these industrial toxins that are, for the most part, invisible and inaudible. How can we transmit these tainted, yet nearly imperceptible frequencies of this ethnographically complex territory? This sonic sensory ethnography attempts towards evoking these dilemmas and seeking out a way of sharing new kinds of anthropological knowledge.

Initial Mid-Side (MS) tests using the new Sennheiser MKH 8030 figure-8 microphone as the Side.

A hydrophonic recording that was made under and on the waters of the Paiva River at Nodar, Portugal. It features filtering created by placement of objects and movement of the hydrophones in the riverbed’s rocky crevices. The recording later became part of my 12-channel sound design for Symptom, a multi-disciplinary work directed by US-based choreographers The Body Cartography Project, presented in 2011 at CounterPulse, SF in 2012 and in 2011 at The Coil Festival, NYC/

The title refers to constructivism in architecture. As I visited my favorite  places in Mantyluoto Port I heard a weak sound somewhere from the distant in the otherwise rather silent harbor. 

Go for the sound, and specially weak sounds, is something I've learned during my [short] life as a field recordist.

Well, I found a big storage of ugly made corrugated steel and a place where the seams of the plates were resonating in the light wind. The wind was dying, so this is an uncut and unprocessed track from the beginning of the recordings; after half an hour there was just some few fragments left from this beautiful drum concert.

Headphones recommended even here, as there's nice spatial movements in the sounding.

This is a track from Mellansel, Sweden, in June 1990. It was around midnight and totally dark. I couldn´t see anything. 
But what is happening here? A mating? A predator?
Telinga PROIII stero DATmic and a Sony TCD-D10 DATmachine.
I´m sorry for handling noise. Had to keep clouds of mosquitos away.
