“Unwise Remix Series” has the involvement of artists which represent Synthek & Audiolouis main points of reference and inspiration, artists who acknowledged the potential of Unwise and accepted to get involved in a great re-edition of the principal cuts of the album. Tadeo inaugurates this first installment with an outstanding reinterpretation of “Thread Between Us”. Keeps the aggressive mood of the original, raising the impetus with slender hi-hats, haunting chords and devilish synthlines, all elements that clearly manifest the powerful imprint of the spanish producer. Aubrey concludes the first side with a sophisticated rework of “Broken Pad”: an unpredictable groove made of fluctuating bleeps and drums, embraced by spacey soundscapes strewn with sonic drills and fragments. Delivering the final blow on the flipside, Polar Inertia’s work can be seen more like a long journey, than an actual remix of Unwise, main track which gives the name to the album. The final 8-minutes-cut brings an extreme dose of deepness to the release, pervading it of a surreal atmosphere crossed by violent droning flashes, while from a dusty, heavily texturized basslines rises a thin but empowering beat, that finally embrace the distinctive (and desynchronized) riff from the original. A superlative gathering of styles and influences that leads Synthek & Audiolouis sound to a completely new level, giving the chance to re-study the Unwise album from different, refined perspectives.

Barcelona based DJ and producer Davide Squillace has welcomed the experimental Italian group Plugger to his creative think tank of This And That, and will feature on their debut EP 'Re_Cycle#1'. 

Scheduled for release on March 23rd, 'Re_Cycle#1' is built around PLUGGER's innovative production concept that manipulates a band or artist’s entire back catalogue, extracts parts and pieces from existing records and reshapes them into an entirely fresh, original composition - where no other external sound is added or allowed. 

The 4-track EP showcases a more alternative style than This And That have previously outputted, and leans towards a darker corner of production, its techno foundations overlaid with electric guitars and raw drum work. With references made to sorcery and all things voodoo, the spellbinding EP also maintains an element of soul in 'Sweet 666', whilst Davide injects some atmospheric techno to 'Waxoline' - re-contextualizing the group's indie sound for the dance floor. 

Davide explains, “I met PLUGGER two years ago in Ibiza and was amazed by the power and psychedelia of the music, as well as the impressive multi-media live show."

With their shared philosophy of fusing music, art and culture, This And That and PLUGGER's formation makes for an exciting project. The artwork for Re_Cycle#1 also follows a similar provocation, and is a composite of recycled album covers and original video footage - solidifying this format and paving the way for a unique set of releases.
