Years ago when I started writing songs, I only wrote them in Spanish. Then, along the way, I stopped and only wrote them in English. It's been years since I've written a song in my native tongue so I'm pretty excited about this song. It's called "La mórbida luz." I really hope you dig it, even if you don't speak Spanish.

Mike Hamel is a singer/songwriter with a bit of a different approach.
 
   "Usually the term singer - songwriter takes on a folk ideal - very laid back and flowery. But my music is so much more than that," he explains. "It's visceral, it's energetic, it's passionate..."
 
     Based out of Beacon, NY, Mike has earned his stripes spending close to a decade playing in a variety of projects. Doing so has earned him a faithful following in fans spanning all genres. Lately, Mike splits his time between his original work and several other musical ventures. Even a quick look at his Facebook page will give you a glimpse into the projects he is involved in.

 After the release of "Where the Change Is" (2012), Mike has been cultivating songs for his sophomore release titled "Truth" (2015), which is now available online and in some choice brick-and-mortar retailers. 
 
   "I can't wait to put this new record out. The songs span such a wider range than 'Change' does. There's more rocking songs, there's more down-tempo, vibey tunes... you'll definitely see a progression from the last disc," says Hamel.
