Odesa, which was usually overcrowded with tourists on warm days, turned into a fortress in constant anticipation of rocket attacks and the arrival of invaders. And after each attack, the streets of the city burst with the sounds of ambulances, covering the usual sounds of the sea and seagulls. And together with the change in the city, the music of the local underground was also transformed, responding to the challenges of the times, and reflecting these dark times.

Operated under extreme psychosis, performed live in the dead of night
at the studio of The Hague's pirate 'Radio Tonka',
these two records contain an apocalyptic selection of the very darkest
moments of its maker, an Anglo-French
'Bruxellois' driftwood expat washed ashore on the West Holland
wasteland just to get even more lost in its empty
shadow chessboard grid of luscious ghost town smoke screen structures
built on nothing but loose sand,
to get even more entangled in its reef-like vortex of the fleetwood
parkland dune estates' artifice of ugly evergreen
high-tech verdure of 'Rose and Thorn', oh, yes, its many, many flowers
'sans Mercée', red and white Carnation, Asphodel,
or 'Fleur de Lys' and 'Fleur du Mal', all awaiting, lurking gentle
softness of the flesh, perfumed for luring prey, yet strikingly
hard-wired through the courtly appearance and the troubling foliage of
the Count's many hidden pleasures, His many
secret palace garden hedges, His Royal Seal concealed behind, oh, yes,
its many, many spines, all hiding midst the ticket,
like cloak and dagger, that poisoned slip of tongue, or poisoned tip
of blade, and all's so easy to slip away and disappear
into the vine and creeper, to make one trip and fall in smear of mud
or was it blood? And then how swift and sudden
one may hear the ominous approach, of tainted fearful hooves, of
painful stainless steel, yet steadily encroaching, by mad design,
this harsh and grinning, eerily certain sound of mind-breaking,
body-slicing, brain-crushing, meat-cutting, soul-shattering
Gargantua of industrial machines, this constant dissonant harmony,
distant yet distinct, with certain paranoid unspeakable voices
of deepest Hades' underworld despairs, this Abysmal flood of uttering
words of God knows what madness, or God knows what truth?
This one-way Path, this one-man War, this one-track Fate, this endless
Road to hit Rock Bottom, I'm terribly afraid it's going to be
a very, very lonely place out there...

For our next premiere we look into US-based producer @Dimentia

Active since 2001, Dimentia is the primary project of Oakland based artist Sean Dimentia. Grounded in the roots of dark Electro, Techno and Industrial, the project is based in hardware production and live performance. 

Dimentia has toured both in Europe and the US and has released music on a number of record labels and has been an actively dedicated community member with underground music collectives Katabatik, Flowershop and Spaz Sound Systems, promoting and supporting underground esoteric electronic music in the Bay Area for over 20 years. 

The track chosen to debut for @DarkScienceElectro is one of six compositions produced for this EP. The track you will hear was made using only the following gear: Octatrack, Analog Rytm, Virus B, Nord Micro Modular, Roland SVC 350, Eventide Timefactor and a Sonic Alienator. This throbbing and grinding track draws on Industrial influence in a while still maintaining a straightforward Electro approach. The other standout track for me on the release is 'Joules'. This self-released EP was released on June 21st and can be purchased below:

As an opening act for its LP series, Dalmata Daniel presents the new album by Dutch West Coast mid-veteran Roberto Auser.

Auser has been into cinematic (or b-videomatic) electro for more than a decade now, with releases on Viewlexx, Pinkman, Gooiland Electro/Enfant Terrible and more, ranging from atmospheric and hypnotic to tight and grim, but always loaded with a vision of a storyteller. In a Dutch way, for sure. Though Second Sun is, again, an audiovisual trip, that's not the primary concept here – it's probably the purest album-like experience of Robert Auser so far, presenting most of his characteristics and sounds, and also new elements, still, all are coherent and organic parts of Auser's projective language of electronics.

Second Sun starts off with a rather sinister way: a noise and industrial beat driven mood frames a subtle main theme in the background (Silent Spring), then it transforms into the highway arpeggio of the title track, just to find itself soon in the middle of tense electro by the third one. Auser unfolds some new shades here: the melancholic echoes and vocals of new school American industrial wave (Fabric of Time), the voice of cold despair returns throughout the album (Gentrified), it even embraces some vocoder pop in the midtempo electro of Place With No Name.

Auser keeps the distance from techno in an elegant way, yet at some points touches the core of it. Passes through some well-crafted rhythmic noise with Edge of Reason (echoes of Container there) to reach an acidic club climax with the old school electro of Third Place and the ebm-techno of Entangled. Roberto Auser's post-industrial-cyber-beat-soundscapes, in the end, dissolve into three minutes of contemplative electronica: it gives us the time and space, and that's the moment when the Second Sun finally comes.

DDLP01: Roberto Auser - Second Sun [SNIPPETS]

Hellboii has been very active in The West Coast music scene, including hosting regular radio shows on Radio Tonka since 2013, several live performances and collaborations, and several releases on Bunker Records/Panzerkreuz + Space Trac (with Inga Mauer). “Rogue Frequencies Trilogy , Darkest Hour, FreakTheMachine” 

He is a founding member of FREAKTHEMACHINE, a collaboration between himself and JJ Lantern (also from Den Haag) described as improvised "machine gun techno-acid".  With a release on Murder Capital with the seminal “Am I Dead?”  

High-energy rhythms blending techno, industrial sounds and aesthetics, and acid, with gripping vocals resounding from the abyss.  Described by Guy Tavares as “A one man war, one track Fate!”

He has also released music on other labels such as Onderweld (NL) Nerve System (BE) Tropical Goth (DE) and has had his music played on Dave Clarkes White noise radio show
