Bokoya is a four-piece jazz/hip-hop band from Cologne who plays improvised beat music. Like a four-headed human drum machine, Bokoya improvise, shape, and develop beats in the electric field of repetition and variation. It's impossible to put a tag on Bokoya's music. BADBADNOTGOOD, Dilla, Krautrock, Ambient and dub might work as rough reference points for the music but don't do it justice. After a sling of releases on Wadada Records, Bokoya are now signed to Melting Pot Music where they will release their new album “Hausensession” on October 14th. The double release “Flipflop Blaster / Produce Sojuce” is their third single.

“Hausensession” will be available as digital album and Gatefold 2LP on 14th October.

I've always loved Starshine's Prelude classic "All I need is You" and struggle to mix it in since its tempo is quite dynamic. Really up and down and changes in the toughest parts to mix in, so I kinda figured I should make a quantized and uptempo edit for my sets. I think of how impactful it would have been to hear this played by Larry Levan at the Paradise Garage back in the day and how euphoric it would be to dance to it. I hope it brings a similar experience to an audience today <3
