I am the one chanting in this song with some help from my synthesizer. The bell is me striking one of my smaller singing bowls and then synthesizing the sound to a deeper tone. I chant this several times daily! I was first introduced to Buddhism through Nichiren Buddhism. This chant is to be said multiple times while in deep meditation. Shodaigyo is to chant the Odaimoku, Namu Myoho Renge Kyo, Repeatedly, and it is the most formal practice in Nichiren Shu Buddhism. The Odaimoku means “the title”, and here the title means the name of the Lotus Sutra, which all Nichiren Buddhists worships. The word, Myoho Renge Kyo of the Odaimoku, Namu Myoho Renge Kyo means the Sutra of the Lotus Flower of the wonderful Dharma, which is the official name of the Lotus Sutra. The word, “Namu” of the Odaimoku, means to give one’s life to something, so it means devotion. The Odaimoku means to devote oneself to the teaching of the Lotus Sutra. The Natural path is the Right Path.....
