2019 Summer

It's safe to say that Desert Dwellers are the most OG desert DJs that we know. In fact, Treavor Moontribe was one of the founding members of Moontribe Collective, the original community of California desert dancers who've been gathering under the full moon since 1993. We owe a ton of our inspiration to Moontribe and we might even go so far to say there wouldn't be a Desert Hearts without our founding fathers of the desert scene.

While we've had Treavor Moontribe absolutely kill it for us in the past, it's his ultra psychedelic Desert Dwellers project with partner Amani Friend that really made international waves. Predominantly a downtempo project, we first heard about a super rare techno / tech house set performed by Desert Dwellers through our partner Kristoff. And he just wouldn't stop raving about it...

Honestly we had absolutely no idea what to expect from a techno set by Desert Dwellers other than the good word of one of our partners. Their set was the one true wildcard on our lineup and it ended up being one of the most radical sets of the weekend. With the first 1.5 hours of the set being all original material, Desert Dwellers pulled off one of the best sets we've ever heard at Desert Hearts.

The only time any of us had previously seen Tiefschwarz was when Mikey Lion saw them at the closing party of Space Ibiza back in 2009. Following some insanely epic sets by Guy Gerber and Steve Lawler on the Terrace Stage at Space, Tiefschwarz laid down the best set of them all to 5000+ party goers in the middle of a torrential rain & lightning storm. The madness of the atmosphere only added to the vibe and the music as people were straight up losing their minds dancing on the completely flooded dance floor. It’s hard to imagine having a vibe and atmosphere that’s more electric than the circumstances surrounding the closing party of one of the best clubs in the world. But you know what? The vibe was better at Desert Hearts.

Without further ado, it’s our pleasure to bring you back to midnight on Saturday night at our 2 Year Anniversary Festival. Hope you enjoy the one and only Tiefschwarz. <3 <3 <3

On a beautiful Thursday afternoon on the playa , Sanctuary , Happy Campers and Gardens of Babylon created “ We are not Robots “ a circus of extraordinary humanoids under the magical dome of 1001 nights camp over on the back streets of 4:45 and J .
This Was truly a bonding labor of Love , we had a beautiful silken dome and the floors were cushioned by playground rubber matts which made everyone take off their shoes so they can jump and dance freely in front of the 50 .000 Watt Turbo Sound System calibrated by our legendary sound engineer .
That being said :
We have decided to release one of the most hauntingly beautiful sets that captured everyones soul at the event .Our 2 favorite Aliens  BRITTA / UNDERS were supposed to play 2 hours , we absolutely had to ask them to prolong the journey for a full 4 hour set which can be described as a "Dustyfairytale"  .They seamlessly poured eclectic sounds and vibrations that made us dancing fools think it was part of a Techno sound bath experiment ,They surpassed our wildest imagination and the crowd has never been so mesmerised by their energy and frequencies ever since.  After hearing the feedback of this magical set , it was our duty to release this as soon as the dust settled. 
We HOPE You enjoy this set as much as we all did . 
From the bottom of our GIANT Hearts , we thank everyone who was able to experience this magical day with us at Burning Man 2018.

britta unders | dusty robots in love @ 1001 nights | burning man 2018

This was my debut at Moon Tribe Gathering March 20, 2019 1:30am - 3am. The insane amount of rain the desert has received this year has blessed us with the most beautiful desert landscapes I have seen in California. It was an absolute honor to play my first Moon Tribe with so many wonderful and weird souls. Music brings our community together and the love we all share is what life is all about for me. Enjoy this mix of dirt style groove techno.

We are proud to present our next selector, Matt Ossentjuk!

After a few years as a regular fixture at LA's most notorious nightclubs and warehouses, Matt turned his focus from DJing back to production, quickly securing releases on such reputable underground labels as My Favourite Freaks, AVOTRE, BluFin, and Desert Hearts Records, earning support from the likes of Dennis Ferris, Sante, M.in, Sascha Funke, Ramon Tapia, Kasier Souzai, & many others.

By day, Matt acts as brand director & project manager for the event series Gari Safari, and co-manages the sister label Gari Recs, for which he led production on 'Rising', the debut single featuring remixes from SHADED, Amtrac, and wAFF.  The EP went on to be a crossover smash, garnering worldwide support.

Never content with resigning himself to one sound or scene, Matt's productions and DJ sets dance around in the space somewhere between House, electro, minimal, and deep tech, all while taking notes from his electronica, pop, and indie backgrounds. He's proven his mettle as a versatile DJ in the booth at spots like Output, XOYO, and Lost Beach Club and festivals such as EDC, CRSSD, and more. Matt is poised to continue expanding his unique vision of dance music well into 2019 and beyond.

Happy May, everyone! I'm pleased to share this new mix with you.

These last few months, I've been working on observing the shift within my taste as a DJ, producer, and label head. I find that these moments of self reflection help move ambiguous implicit decisions to explicit artistic choices. This helps me move closer to operating with artistic fearlessness.

I'm spending more time reaching outside the boxes I’ve been sitting in, while at the same time keeping a foot in the door as a nod to where I’ve come from. This diffusion between worlds is what's most exciting to me at the moment. Hopefully you too.

For my return to the Woogie Stage, I decided to dig super deep into my vast music collection. Since I have been working hard to expand my musical range lately, the music contained  within spans a period of nearly 25 years. I think I nailed the daytime vibe that I wanted perfectly.

I have attended LiB festival for 11 years straight. It's always an amazing time, and Do LaB runs one of the best production teams in the world. Super grateful for this experience. Please enjoy the set and comment on the parts that you like, your feedback is very important to me.

He's making things happen either on his own or as a guitar accompaniment at almost any southern Californian festival or venue you can think of, and as you can see through this mix, it's well deserved. He blends through dreamy, deep, sexy, and booty-shaking vibes seamlessly, always keeping dance-floors grooving...
