Ozzie Guven is fast becoming a key figure in the roaring UK underground dance scene. It has seen Ozzie already land 2 Beatport Number One Releases, with tracks signed to highly revered labels: Whippin, Reecords, BeeYou, Pitch, Surge, Rendr, Habits, Whoyostro, Hungarian Hot Wax & more. 

His debut release on Zito’s Seven Dials imprint see’s Guven deliver a delectable 3 tracker of club ready music, two minimal deep tech tracks and a third track in a breakbeat garage flavour. 

The first and title track on the EP is ‘Dubaholics’. As the name suggests, this track has a strong feel of dub behind its well executed deep minimal tech beats which combined with garage flavours that Zito’s imprint is well known for. This is a slick number combining various genres all in one killer dance floor track. 
Next up is ‘Brass Disk’ with its skipping hi’s and low slung sub bass, this delivers a more traditional minimal deep tech track, showing Guven’s talents from producing tracks across genres, whilst using sounds from various genres yet with a continuity to them that they sound like they belong together.

Born out of a lockdown night when their usual Saturday night plans were off limits, Defected regular Darius Syrossian and South Records boss George Smeddles decided to cook something up for the anticipated return to the club. With just a vocal to work with, they decided to produce something with the 90s, uplifting vibe dancefloors would be needing. Demonstrating the same addictive, dancefloor-ready grooves seen on their previous collabs like ‘Get Toast’ and ‘Blood Orange’, this latest joint venture once again delivers the heat. With its deep organ bassline, playful keys and irresistible 4/4 swing, this record oozes club appeal in a way you can only expect from producers rooted firmly in the scene. The b-side track is represented by 'We got next' that has an outstanding groove enforced with weird synth-work and rolling bassline, bringing that perfect combination of bouncy rhythm and hypnotizing melodic injections providing a proper minimal-house vibe.

Boogeyman is a brand new sub label from The Martinez Brothers's legendary Cuttin' Headz.

The brainchild of Jesse Calosso, who also takes the lead with A&R, kicks off with a fantastic compilation showcasing the sound and talent the label will deal in.

Jaden Thompson, Aaron D, Jean Pierre, Joey Daniel, and The Martinez Brothers themselves all feature.

Planet Mars from Aaran D opens with chunky house drums and a cool sense of funk from the lithe synths. AJ Christou & Gabriel Torres link for the kicking Raw Life, with its warped synths and kinetic drums pumping the party, then UK stalwarts Alex Arnout & Matt Tolfrey come together for Back to Flat, which is a high speed and silky deep house cut. Blas Cordero impresses with his tightly woven deep techno banger 'Do It' while Jaden Thompson layers in some heartfelt vocals to the irresistible drum programming on his 'Closer.'

Elsewhere Jean Pierre's 'Da Heights' is a tech funk workout with twisted pads and skewed bass that has a futuristic vibe and Calosso himself helps define the collection with Disc-Hoe, a lively cut with ramshackle drums and vocal stabs bringing the steaminess.

Closing things out is Joey Daniel with another of his house masterclasses, then The Martinez Brothers step up with a hard hitting groove that has robust drums and drilling bass which is all about blowing up the floor. Last of all, Vic Damone Jnr offers a new school take on the Chicago sound with raw claps, ghetto vocals and bumping bass that is truly electric.

This is a fantastic first release from this sure to be vital label.
