The second instalment of the Groove Gems collection featuring an array of talented artists from my main collectives, @RhythmandReason and @ORPHGANG... 

This project was a great opportunity to showcase some of the amazing talent I have come across since releasing the first instalment of Groove Gems; all of whom I can individually consider as close friends and musical inspirations. Furthermore, Groove Gems II also allowed me to solidify my sound (put a stamp on it if you like) and expose listeners to the musical development/growth I have experienced since the last album. 

A massive thank you to EVERYONE who has supported me so far on my journey!

Highlife is a music genre that originated in Ghana early in the 20th century. It uses the melodic and main rhythmic structures of traditional Akan music, but is played with Western instruments. 

The main idea  behind This beat tape is to blend Highlife music and Hip hop together. So each beat contains a sample of a highlife/Hip-life song which is manipulated, tweaked and merged with Hip hop elements to sound modern and fresh. If you loved The first and Second TrapLife BeatTape the third will drive you nuts. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!
