I Took A Pill In Ibiza

Sometime before now, I was in the studio with a friend of mine who also writes songs for a living. As often happens when songwriters hang out, we were trading tunes. He would play one on the guitar, then I would play one. Back and forth…back and forth into the LA night. Eventually I played a song and my buddy asked me, “What inspired you to write that?” I told him it was the story of a relationship I used to have, mixed up with some things I’d just plain imagined. He looked in my eyes deeply, and in a tone that made the words seem of more than ordinary significance, he said, 

“Why don’t you just tell the truth?” 

That night I started this project. 

I Took a Pill in Ibiza, Buried in Detroit, Be As You Are, and Not That Simple are four songs selected from my upcoming album. They are best listened to the way they were written: at night, and alone. I hope you enjoy.

Not That Simple

Ingram & The DayDreamers is a focused collection of Tyler Ingram’s strongest writing so far — songs built from real work, late nights, and a clear sense of direction. The album reflects how Ingram builds music: starting with rough ideas, shaping them into full pieces, and guiding the band through each arrangement. Every part, the ukulele lines, guitar patterns, string moments, drum choices- is placed with intention.

“Golden Hair” is a soft romantic pop ballad about a young man walking home through New York winter evenings. Lost in December thoughts, he looks up and sees her—a stranger whose golden hair and quiet glow stop his world cold.

From that moment, she haunts his week: the shy glance, the missed chance, the routines he repeats hoping to cross paths again. When he finally sees her a third time, he gathers the courage to speak… only to discover she felt the same spark.

A story of timing, longing, and the kind of unexpected connection that stays with you long after the moment passes.
