BTS Podcast 024 - Terminal Sync 

This Podcast is infinite interplanetary journey in which constellation are the ranks of spatial and hypnotic sounds.

Manuel Sabbion aka Terminal Sync is dj, producer and video artist from Padova (northern Italy). His passion for the electronic and techno music has already begun in the 1999. In 2006 he founds a crew called Thursdaysdeep with other 2 friends (Status Und,Alan Backdrop). With deep passion for music he discovers other types of music genres, as ambient and dub music. All this teaches him how to express sensations and emotions to the flow through music and it also makes him mature enough to start playing with the crew in some private parties and clubs in Padova. In 2009 he approaches to the motion graphic world and starts to make some promo videos for the Thursdaysdeep and for various different parties.In the same year, he opens a channel in Vimeo, in which he posts his videos. With this new passion he tries to find a meeting point between music and the animation graphic to recreate a dreamlike space.

Manuel Sabbion aka Terminal Sync pochodzący z północnych Włoch z Miejscowości Padova dj, producent i artysta wideo. Jego pasja do muzyki elektronicznej rozpoczęła się w 1999 roku. W 2006 roku z dwójką przyjaciół założył kolektyw Thursdaysdeep (Status Und,Alan Backdrop). Z biegiem czasu odkrywał inne gatunki muzyczne, takie jak ambient czy dub. Doświadczenie i odkrywanie dźwięków nauczyło go jak poprzez muzykę wyrażać uczucia i emocje. 
Związany z  wytwórniami Utch Records, Par Recordings i Ekar Records.

Releasing a new EP on Blueprint last month (October) ‘Nothing Can Be Held In Our Hands For Long’. Steve Bailey aka Makaton, has been releasing seminal, experimental and cutting-edge techno music since 1998 with all but three of his releases coming through his own Rodz-Konez operation, a label that’s also released music by Regis, Inigo Kennedy, Female, The 65D Mavericks and Fumiya Tanaka.

Makaton has also released two records on Token and one on RSB.  His exhilarating live set has also seen him support the techno scene across the UK, Europe and in the US. ’4 Point Suspension’ conveys an immediate punch, with crunching beats and an unremitting delivery, while the fractured ‘Six Feet Under In Love’ stutters and sparkles, before the dark and whirling dimensions of ‘Cold Black Heart’. Underground and uncompromising to the core; recalcitrant.

The main idea behind this mix was to create a soothing, positive sonic landscape to help me clear my mind. The mix avoids going into abstract or darker territories, and in my opinion has a rather friendly vibe to it.

Peter Van Hoesen - Prismatic Wish - An Ambient Mix

Peter Van Hoesen might be best known for his techno work, but the Belgian’s real resumé is actually much more diverse. Formally trained on organ, bass and guitar, the Time to Express boss has put out albums of abstract sound design, has composed for contemporary dance, has been a sometime promoter, run various labels and works with Yves De Mey as Sendai. He also recently stepped up to mint our own new sub label, Dekmantel UFO. On that EP he showed his ability to distil groove and atmosphere into intense soundscapes filled with fascinating details, and it is the same story with the mix he serves up here. 

Over the course of an hour, Van Hoesen sucks you deep down into his hypnotic sound world, where train track grooves and suspensory pads trap you in the moment. As things unfold, rays of melodic light, unsettling analogue sounds and broken drums all make for a more unhinged ride that is both seductive yet visceral. It makes for an intense listen that takes you right to the heart of an otherworldly the dance floor in the dead of night, no matter where you listen to it. 

Dekmantel  Podcast 076 - Peter Van Hoesen

Stealth is a special compilation selected and mixed by Peter Van Hoesen. The fourteen track album pulls together his own exclusive material along with previously unreleased tracks from his closest musical peers. It comes in the form of three EPs (both on vinyl and digital), a digital download as well as a special mix CD. 

The idea here was for Peter to combine a mix album with an artist album; to marry his own music with the sounds he is influenced by. The cultured likes of Voices from the Lake, Mike Parker, Yves De Mey and Imaginary Softwoods, amongst others, all make the cut. “I believe less and less in the artist as a solo subject, whereby the ego of the artist seems to be the driving force,” he explains of the thinking behind this project. “On the contrary, I think we exist within a multitude of connections, who we are is as much defined by who is around us. Stealth is a little reminder of that.” 

Originally Peter intended to edit and remix the tracks he was sent from friends, but instead he allows them to play out in full as they knit with his own style so perfectly. The Time To Express boss here offers us a perfect window into his current musical world. It is one where there is a keen and streamlined focus on trance inducing percussive patterns (especially on his own contributions) and is where techno takes on a spiritual, otherworldly form that truly consumes your mind. “I really feel that a new chapter is starting in me,” he says. “And this project serves as a subtle announcement of that”.

Stealth - Mixed By Peter Van Hoesen

Danny Wolfers aka Legowelt is irrepressible. Creativity flows from the Dutchman like water from a tap: if he’s not making his own fan magazines, writing and performing in web movies about space weed, drawing album art based on his own dreams or making his own synths, he’s probably making music. That music comes under an intricate web of aliases on labels all over the world , and at Dekmantel we recently signed him up as Occult Orientated Crime, one of his more ambient leaning projects, for the May album Just a Clown on Crack. It was a dark and abstract affair and in that spirit Legowelt recorded us a podcast of similarly subversive and immersive sounds. 

Over the course of 80 minutes, the mix has you suspended in outer space as all manner of spaceships and alien life forms drift by your window. Rippling synths and smeared pads, gurgling machines and silky melodies all stretch out into the distance and range from rueful and reflective to rather more meaning later on. It is the perfect soundtrack to sooth busy modern minds.
