Bio:

Multidisciplinary artist and musician born in Madrid (Spain-1979) Lover design, architecture and art in all its expansion, During his youth it is influenced by different music styles as the SintPop, punk rock, metal etc … but it is probably the “Ambient” a deep interest woke it up in his life as artist.

In the late ’90s began his interest in electronic music composition where the influence of ambient, techno and underground deep sounds are shaping their own sound.
In 2011 after a long creative period , decide to shape his new project.

2014 is the year, 3 albums released (SUB.SPIELE , BETYAR RECORDS AND ETOKA RECORDS) and incorporating the exclusive MIXCULT TEAM (Saint Petersburg RUSSIA) ,  are a small introduction of what this artist can say .
Currently immersed in the production of music and exclusive mixes for labels around the world, which will lead your vision of ambient sounds / techno and deep to unknown landscapes.

My name is Craft and this week we present Joanna Jago from Porto in Portugal.

Joanna was born in Cornwall in the U.K. but spent most of her life in Portugal, between Faro and Porto. She lived the last 3 years in Barcelona and Berlin and is currently based in Porto. She started DJing in 2007 performing at many events including “Are Friends Electrik?”. She currently hosts show called “Resistance is Futile” with Wasteyouth on Seance Radio. She is part of Female Pressure, an international network of female artists in electronic music and digital arts founded by Electric Indigo and sent us this special 2-hour set of all female productions.

Bio:
Joanna was born in Cornwall in the U.K. but spent most of her life in Portugal, between Faro and Porto. She lived for the last 3 years in Barcelona and Berlin and is currently based in Porto.
In 2007 she started dj’ing in a small club in Faro, with musical
sessions that went from trip­hop to minimal. At first as a warmup act, but rapidly gaining all night sessions, which are her favourite.... to have time to construct something, and kidnap her listeners on a musical voyage. Went back to Porto in 2009, where she had studied architecture in early 2000s, started dj’ing in and around the local music scene (more "indy"), to culminate with the “Are Friends Electrik?” parties (more "techno").
Her style is now more defined than before but the objective still the same: to be able to make her audience’s heartbeats pulsate to the rhythm of techno and dance with the feeling of being in a unique place for a unique moment.

She hosts Resistance is Futile with Wasteyouth for a year now, a Radio Show Thursdays at 21:00 UTC+1 on Seance Radio (www.seanceradio.co.uk). One hour of Electronic Music with a new show on every two weeks.

Multipurpose french techno artist, Leghau bring his name in the head of a large public thanks to a lot of EPs and remixes on various international respected labels such like Figure, Sleaze, Skryptöm & Credo.

Supported by a lot of key producers, his music is a melt of various influences and styles that bring him in huge events and clubs such like Techno Parade in Paris, the Rex Club or Berghain.

As a side project, Leghau is launching an experimental/electronica’s alias called « Doseo », an album is already planned for 2015

Hello friends!

We had to dig deep into the techno sandpit before we found this artefact. This week we present UK based DJ and producer Rich Jones aka. Operator. He has put together this massive set for us compiled of a span between hypnotic deep sticky grooves and atmospheric melodies.

Making his name with intricate, percussive, big-room, club friendly, yet hypnotic and tough techno, Rich has grown from strength to strength since becoming a weekly fixture on Richie Hawtins twitter tracklist in 2009. He has since gone onto sign music to labels as influential as Soma Records and Minus, and was one of the key artists during the peak period of Alan Fitzpatrick's 8 Sided Dice imprint. Rich also has made a name for himself on the flip-side, as his house alias Lamech, releasing quirky, percussive, deep, stoney techno-house on the ever dependable Greta Cottage Workshop. However, his creative path has led him to his spiritual home in the electronic music world: making deep techno that has tons of energy and power. 

This is where Rich's new pseudonym Operator comes in, and with it he has finally been given freedom to release all the weirder, deeper, tougher, purist techno backlogged on his Hard-drives. With this alias, Rich continues to show the breadth of his studio creativity, something he has painstakingly honed now for over a decade. Whilst keeping the groove very much for the dancefloor, Operator showcases the full spectrum of Rich's love for Techno and IDM, and also reveals his soft spot for atmospheric, old-school Detroit Techno, especially spacey, futurist melodies and chords, and psychedelic, mind bending, moody dystopian synth' textures. Through the launch of his own label, Gnosis Records, and his alias Operator, Rich has fully allowed himself the creative freedom to release exactly the kind of techno that is closest to his heart, as well as showcasing other similar, like minded, deep techno artists. As Operator, or simply as Rich Jones, expect to hear his sound grow, and mature, and, at some point, melt your mind on a dance-floor somewhere around the world...

Derry producer The Cyclist is, by his own admission, a throwback.

In a manifesto-of-sorts on his Soundcloud page, he sets out his intentions as “an attempt to get to a time in electronic music where everything sounds warmer”, citing “more techno-ey tunes by Throbbing Gristle” and Boards of Canada’s Geogaddi “but with the more danceable edge of New Order” as inspirations. “This needed to be done”, his statement reads, “And needs to be done more. Let’s call it Tape Throb for now.”

Of course, in 2015 this necessarily make The Cyclist unique: more than enough virtual ink has been spilt on noise-techno crossover records, and “tape throb” might as well be the M.O. of a label like 1080p Collection. He does, however, do it better than most. 2013’s Bones in Motion was a beautiful record (as Angus Finlayson wrote in FACT, an album “that renders even simple arrangements partially indecipherable – as if they hover teasingly out of focus – and lends these tracks a certain cryptic quality”), and the more recent Flourish and Hot House have developed The Cyclist’s knack for saturating memorable melodies in fuzz until they sound like just that: memories.

As previously mentioned, The Cyclist isn’t alone in his journey, and his FACT mix feels like a minor manifesto in itself. Although it only includes three tunes by him, the whole set fits his vision, with music from Fort Romeau, Anthony Naples and Suicide captured through that same gauzy lens. Hot House is out now on Music is for Losers.
