My grandpa Joe is my musical hero. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of him dusting off his old telecaster and playing Shotgun Boogie and House of the Rising Sun at Christmastime. 

His hands can't play chords anymore and he's a little hard of hearing, but we all still love to hear him sing. Over the 4th of July weekend, I brought some recording gear and asked Grandpa if he'd record a song with me; His choice of tune. He started singing this old Ernest Tubb song by heart and I said "Let's do it!"

So here's me and Grandpa Joe singing "Rainbow at Midnight".

He's 84 years old, never recorded a song before, and he only did one vocal take.
