A big red moon is rising over the hills as you sit on the lawn on a warm late spring night. 12 strings guitar build a simple, peaceful atmosphere with just a touch of melancholy. Percussion and a distant banjo join in and then delicate drumming drive the song home.

Even on an ordinary, rainy day there's hope for a bright, sunny tomorrow. This soft rock track sets the mood going from a slightly melancholic intro and verses to an energetic, uplifting chorus. Electric guitars and piano weave delicate and positive melodies upon a bed of acoustic guitars.

No Ordinary Day

Jingles for italian National radio channels. On the air from 1996 to 2000. It's funny, but my most succesful jingles were done in a corner of my sitting room with an Atari, a Roland D-70, an Akai 2800 sampler and a couple more expanders. The quality was quite good, though.

Jingles for the most sophisticated Network in Italy. These are interesting 'cos they're quite long and atmospheric jingles, with lots of real guitars and bass. Recorded in my studio in Bologna except for vocals. I especially like the Montecarlo Night series. Aired from 1999 to 2001.

Seven Bridges Road

My name is Michele Vanni and I was born in Bologna, Italy in 1961. I started playng guitar at 10 and a couple years later I was playng bass with a band. I soon developed an interest in keyboards and drums and became proficient on both. In 1977 I switched to guitar as my main instrument and begun experimenting with home recording. In the early 80's I started working as a sound engineer in small to mid sized studios and produced quite a few demos for local bands (including mine). I worked in the Jingle/Commercial industry from 1990 to 2001 both in my home town and in Milan and I wrote, arranged and performed more than 500 jingles including works for Radio Rai (Italian National Radio) and major radio networks (Radio Monte Carlo, Radio 105). From 1996 to 2004 I also toured and did studio work with Luca Carboni, one of the most successful Italian singer-songwriter, playing guitars, keyboards and doing computer programming. I recently begun to work again with producer extraordinaire Celso Valli and played guitar on a few very successful albums by some of the biggest artists in Italy like Gianni Morandi, Adriano Celentano and Laura Pausini:the spanish version of her latest cd Escucha just won a Grammy as Best Latin Album. I worked briefly in the Dance industry and did a small tour of Japan as a singer in 1995. In the early nineties I toured and recorded with Clara and the Black Cars, a rock band produced by Guido Elmi (Vasco Rossi) but unfortunately their third album (that I contributed a lot to) was never released. Leds, Crudelia, Intensive Care, Crying Steel were some of the local bands bands I was in in the last 30 years. I also recorded and performed live (guitars and lead vocals) with Domino, a Genesis tribute band that has received worldwide praise and  released their first live DVD in 2005 (I also edited, produced and engineered the whole thing). In 2006 I started playing the flute and begun producing a growing catalog of License music that's selling well on the internet and more Jingles. In 2009 I played guitars and bass on 5 tracks of Clara Moroni's new solo album (Vasco Rossi's backing vocalist): they were new arrangements of tracks we wrote together back in the 90s. I also got my music and classical guitar playing on a couple of American indie movies soundtracks ( 'Chamaco' and 'The Scarf') and placed tracks on Mtv, Nbc and on Web based sitcoms and in 2011 I 'recreated' about 70 Beatles tracks for an Italian/English language course on DVD (Music for my English). I obviously have a personal digital studio and mostly work with ProTools, loads of virtual instruments, lots of guitars and a Roland TD6 drum kit that allows me to play very realistic drum tracks.
