Music created using only the new sound library for the last synthesizers released by the legendary E-Mu Systems. 
40 years ago,  a new musical era was born, sampling technology reaches the masses with the release of the E-mu Emulator II.  A new musical instrument that will  empower musicians like never before. There were samplers before the Emulator II, but  out of reach for most of the musicians due to its price.   
20 years after the success of the  E-mu Emulator, and the legaly left to contemporaneous music, E*mu releases the Command Stations and Proteus Modules along with several Sound Expansion Libraries (ROM format). Just after  the release, they will close operations, at least in the synth market, to become Creative Labs.
No more ROMs have been released since then. 
But the production of sound expansion libraries for the E-mu machines, is back in 2024, and will supply a variety of sound collections and presets, for all the loyal users of these amazing instruments.

Declaring something to be the last entails it having occurred at least once, and often implies that preventive measures will be difficult. Yet there are situations where such mitigation is imperative - as is the case with the redoubtable opera murders.

Disquiet0639 - Weareone

I chose to revise a track from Jamuary ‘24 because its description on SoundCloud reads “Wanted to make something lovely, quiet, relaxed with Meadowphysics but it turned into a 128 BPM Techno jam.” This asked for a redo.

Most of my tracks are live recordings in AUM or on Norns. This one was based around Meadowphysics and Icarus. These parts were lost (as I never save anything on Norns) and impossible to recreate. So the revision is built upon on what was still working in the AUM file - Quanta Synth, a beat and a field recording. I cut the beat down to one kick and added the fabulous wavematrix. The rest is hitting a few Synth notes and live mixing.

mikey_a is an ambient and soundscape artist living in Melbourne, Australia.
Though now producing mainly in the box with a mix of VST and field recordings he still likes to occasionally crank out some of the physical treasures he's owned since the '80s: a Korg MonoPoly, a Roland TR-606, TB-303, S-10 and D-110 along with a TEAC 3440 reel-to-reel.
He is a frequent contributor to the Naviar Records' Haiku Challenge and Disquiet Junto projects.
