Tall Tales is my second independent release and I hope you can hear the growth and progress I've made since "Chapter 1" released, roughly 3 years ago. These 6 tracks are just the tip of the iceberg, the most interesting (and ultimately complete) pieces to come from me in the past few years. There are still MANY projects in the works that didn't make it to completion by this release, but every step of growth just facilitates more growth, and it definitely shouldn't take another 3 years before you hear from me again. I plan to keep growing and getting better at expressing myself as a vocalist and a songwriter, but I hope you enjoy this chapter of my personal journey.

The Archivist is the 3rd collection from Mikey Pettengill under the name "Novella". This collection will continue to grow as I finish more songs, slowly but surely. Until I feel a significant shift in my writing or style and decide to call "The Archivist" complete. The same goes for my B-Sides collection; "Id & Ego".

"Chapter 1" is the debut EP of Novella, my personal musical excursion as an artist and student of the craft. I have begun pursuing a degree in music and frequently work on and/or start new projects, but the hardest part, is FINISHING them.  These four tracks are the first ever original songs I have brought completely to fruition independently. It's a raw and sometimes jarring experience, examining some of the darker sides of the human experience. Moving forward, I will be putting more thought and intent into the structure and harmonic progression of my songs. As well as more more variation in my lyrical themes. But here it is, imperfections and all! I hope you enjoy it.
