The Weird Sounds EP is a largely instrumental and experimental 4 song project recorded in rooms in a house. We made every song to feel like a scene in a movie. 

For “not even a song like a legit cry for help”, I wrote a short screenplay, the climax of which took place in a cave. So to emulate the environment of the piece as closely as I could, I recorded the entire song in a small shower in complete darkness (instruments and all). The rest of the pieces were created in similar experimental fashion.
We wrote and recorded “Ugly Pretty” while watching National Geographic with the sound off.  The song “Everything” was recorded in a blackout. Adrian Kong and I recorded 15 songs which whittled down to the 4 which best fit together thematically. We did our very best to create sonic landscapes that felt, sounded and looked like something to us and most importantly worked together as a complete project.
