I met a man at a bar in Chelsea, and we talked about life as a whole;
about girls, and jobs, and life and death, about Thomas Wolfe and his soul
We walked the streets of Chelsea, down to the river up by the Lincoln Tunnel
We sat down on a the ground and smoked ourselves: silly-crazy-happy!
The night was still young…

I met a few friends at bar in the Village, and I mostly sat there and listened,
because the stories being told where so sweet to my ears,
it was a true pleasure being there
And I met this other friend from Brooklyn, and he was as nice as I always knew,
he gave me a tape, from the years in hell, and I watched it, and I instantly knew:
