MIK MAROO  

of the bourgeois name Manuel Klauser, is born and grown up in the metropolitan area of Zurich. At four years old, he got his first steps with the music: the turntable of his father was responsible for that! Growing up mainly listening funk, jazz and hip hop, at the age of 16 years he bought his first sound devises and was immediately enthusiastic on the vinyl, which keep close to him until today. Hanging up with records; this was for him like a way of relaxation.
At 26 years old for his first techno party, was immediately fascinated by the music and infected by its mood. He bought then plenty of records and decided to experiment with the sound.
Working intensively many hours daily while his first mix took form and diffused, came the first booking inquiries.
His debut set with public was at Hive Club in Zurich, with a lot of success. Inspired from this first experience of interaction with the crowd, it was clear for him that he would not stop this activity anymore. He spent the last three years to position himself, first of all, in the Zürcher nightlife as Dj reference. In addition to Hive, he soon performed in innumerable other clubs. Supermarket,  Q Club,  Superzero, Kaufleuten, Cabaret Club, Mascotte, Pfingstweide, Friedas Büxe, Station as well as in various daylight parties in and around Zurich area such as the legendary Letten and GZ Wollishofen, and regularly invited to play in Sedel Club, Sudpol , the Bar 59, Freundeskreis in Luzern as well.
He has shared the decks with top artists such Dandi e Ugo (Italo Business), David Morales, Nôze & Dop, Dj Mehdi, Hanna Holland, Fritz Kalkbrenner, Steve Bug, Format B, Der dritte Raum, Tom Clark, Noir, among others. 
Nowadays Mik Maroo is resident of the renowned Hive Club and considered as a revelation DJ, son of the Zurich scene. He evolves in a team of international artists at KUMQUAT rec. with the ambition of bringing his driving sets across the borders of Switzerland.  (Up-date 12.04.10)
