@merriware is a fresh out of the box vinyl affair, kicking things off with an machine-driven ensemble that includes If-Only regular Rudolf C, label owner @pascalsone, DJ Sting and Lou Karsh. Lingering somewhere around the sunken euphoria of Giegling, the EP fires off 4 contemplative live jams to satisfy and dazzle the introspective dancers. DJ Sting and Pascal’s ‘DJ Sting Going Deep’ lives up to its promise, delivering a luxuriously atmospheric number where a Leon Vynehall-esque looping vocal subtly sails beneath the undulating synths – a defining trope throughout the EP. The pitter-patter drum work helps shed the sleepy waves, turning this into a track that will work nicely at the 6AM after party and get the dancers moving in the earlier hours.

It’s been three years since we launched Gost Zvuk with a record by Aleksey Nikitin, also known as Nocow. Now in the first days of a new spring we are happy to announce the release of his full-length “Ledyanoy Album” – a musical dedication to the Russian winter. This season always played a special role in the national art tradition. The cover design is graced with the works of Igor Grabar and Arkhip Kuindzhi.

Returning with four tracks from four upcoming artists, LKR003 explores a variety of styles on the fringes of modern techno, with elements of industrial, noise, atmospheric ambience and clattering breakbeats forming an uncompromising whole. 

On the A-side, Strahinja Arbutina's brutal four-to-the-floor techno screamer ‘Dehumidifier’ rattles the roof, leading into Iazikzazubami’s slower, mysteriously murky ‘Brmaa’, where visions of dark landscapes are conjured. 

On the B-side, Consulate drags you further deep into the nightclub dungeon with his techno + breaks laden stomper ‘Klattenburg’, while the EP is drawn to a determined close with Hymns’ ‘Map 7’, which gathers the eerie, robotic vibes of the previous cuts, and projects them into an energetic, mechanical climax.

"The latest release from this camp is Kuzma Palkin's Sierpinski Curve, a double 10-inch on the trackier Gost Instrument sub-label. Compared to Palkin's only other record, the dense and rich Audiosapr LP, these four tracks are decidedly functional, but by no means conventional. There are hooks, however minimalistic, like the gusts of hi-hats on "SugrobChill," or the warped sub-bassline on "3 DeepTX" that creeps into the mid-range. The drums are grimy and punch-drunk in a way that recalls STL. Little flourishes make the arrangements feel loose and unpredictable—the one-off drum fills on "3 DeepTX," or the unexpected moment near the end of "SugrobChill" when the beat, until then a fierce and lean techno pulse, falls into a stepping rhythm. More evidence, if any was needed, that this crew has flown under the radar for too long."
