The word "festival" was originally used as an adjective from the late fourteenth century, deriving from Latin via Old French. In Middle English, a "festival dai" was a religious holiday. It's first recorded used as a noun was in 1589 (as "Festifall"). Feast first came into usage as a noun circa 1200, and its first recorded use as a verb was circa 1300. The term "feast" is also used in common secular parlance as a synonym for any large or elaborate meal. When used as in the meaning of a festival, most often refers to a religious festival rather than a film or art festival. In the Philippines and many other former Spanish colonies, the Spanish word fiesta is used to denote a communal religious feast to honor a patron saint. The word gala comes from Arabic word khil'a, meaning robe of honor. The word gala was initially used to describe "festive dress", but came to be a synonym of festival starting in the 18th century.
A festival is an event ordinarily celebrated by a community and centering on some characteristic aspect of that community and its religion or cultures.
The music festival emerged in England in the 18th century as an extension of urban concert life into a form of seasonal cultural festivity structured around a schedule of music performances or concerts. It is generally an annually occurring event with more regular and extensive programming than more spontaneous or improvised forms of music festivity. Music festivals are generally organized by individuals or organizations within networks of music production, typically music scenes, the music industries, or institutions of music education. The music festival is the largest and one of the most important performance institutions in music life, a place for experiencing where the culture is at.
I had a real festival feeling at this year's Wilde Möhre festival after quite some time playing at the Puppenräuber Stage at the Maskenball edition Friday night. Thank you, to all the dancers!

She prefers a course around 123,4 bpm, sliding through with some shorter and occasionally with longer transitions. Preferably well-rested. But even crumpled, she has surprised us with utter superiority!

I decided to upload the recording of my set at Bucht der Träumer since I fell in love with this festival. I am really happy I was invited to play at the Porto Loco stage early Saturday morning. I began playing in the darkness of the night and finished when the sun came up ( #kitsch ) in front of some friends and many strangers. When I turned around I saw a huge engine, the lake and one or the other lonely rubber duck floating around ( #surreal ).

Given the current situation calls for funds are piling up in your feed. I know. Now our Station Endlos also urgently needs your help. Only a few weeks before we wanted to open our Club over the Easter weekend Station Endlos is in danger. I don't think I have to explain why a project as Station Endlos especially in the east german province is as important as it is. It also materialized itself over and over again at different places as Bucht der Träumer or Fusion Festival or Ikarus, to name only a few. At the moment we don't know how to cover ongoing costs such as loans, insurances and so on without a running club and the many many assignments from clients we usually have over the summer.
I really don't want to bury this project. So please help to safe Station Endlos.

I recorded my workshop about roasting marshmallows at the beach at the Bucht der Träumer holiday camp last weekend. Leading this workshop was by far a highlight of the last months and I am very grateful that some of the people I've shared the worst moments of 2020 together were there to roast some marshmallows with me. We had to interrupt the workshop a few times to remind everyone to wear a mask. The announcements were not recorded so I cut out the blank spots. On a Sunday afternoon on Ocotber 25th  the Tunnel floor at Sisyphos was introduced to me. The three hours I spent there were among the best I had this year. Thank you to all the masked dancers! I took many mental photos of the great moments we shared. i will need these to survive the next months without going completely insane.

For the past ten years now, I’ve celebrated my birthdays by inviting all my favorite cats to play – we started off at Kater Holzig before moving to our home at Kater Blau in 2015. For the first time since it started, and for obvious reasons, 43 Katzen tanzen auf’m Tisch won’t be happening, on what would have been the tenth anniversary of the series.
