“Christchurch’s Akcept has been on our radar for a fair amount of time, appearing with new material in a number of FKOF Sessions over the last year or so. Given the quality of Alex’s music, much like the rest of his Kiwi brethren - we’re surprised his release on our imprint is his solo debut. But that’s no bad thing; as we’re always happy to launch new talent! 

“We’d be hard pushed to select any of the four tunes on FKOFd025 as clear favourites. The release embodies what we’ve come to love about Alex’s music; diverse and adventurous sounds that feel as comfortable together as they do apart. The EP opens with 'Desert Dubbing', a tune Korrupt’s been testing whenever the opportunity presents itself. It’s yet to disappoint. 'Cut It' follows - with its wicked sample, wheeling sub and floaty synths. 'Panic Attack' evokes an almost Perverse-esque vibe with its haunting atmospherics and relentlessly aggressive low end. If you can’t experience this on a system, you don’t know what you’re missing. Last, but definitely not least, we have 'Martyr'. It feels like the most experimental inclusion on the record - with its future-facing vibe - but still epitomises the producer’s ability to craft something truly special. It’s a tune that feels at home at 11pm opening the night - and again at 6am as the sun rises.

So I’ve had this idea for years, and finally its coming to life, thru a release on Touched. I wanted to do something bigger with my musical power for a good cause. I have an amazing network of musical friends, and almost everybody I asked to get involved said yes. I just want to make a statement, we all have power to do something good in this world, just think about it what it is for yourself and think of ways to make it happen. 

3 years ago I adopted a rottweiler from the shelter, he was in the shelter for 2 years. From all the dogs I took walks with I connected the most with him. And although he is a handful, I love him more than anything in the world. And it opened up my eyes even wider how I connect with them, mostly better than with humans. 

I just love animals, and dogs in particular. It was clear I wanted to pick a charity that helps dogs, nothing grabs me more by the throat than the horrific situation for dogs in the dog meat trade in Asia. I supported the soi dog foundation a couple of times already so this was a logical choice to focus on them. They do amazing stuff in the whole of Asia. 

Mission Statement of soi dog: 
To improve the welfare of dogs and cats in Asia, resulting in better lives for both the animal and human communities, to create a society without homeless animals, and to ultimately end animal cruelty.

Chapter 1 of the milc saga, where milc turned from a tight band of friends from LA to one of the most recognized dusbtep labels of today! After a year of research and networking online, Gutz & Wulf licensed and compiled one of the most epic compilation lineups we could with our resources at the time. Bringing together artists from all over the world: producers, DJs, VJs, dancers, visual artists, MCs, rappers, graffiti artists and whoever decided to take part in the cause, to create the milc label and brand to show, that we could do it ourselves. From December 14 - January 31, 12 Bass Coast alumni are providing original tracks for download by donation. Bass Coast will match all donations made and all proceeds will be donated to The Conayt Friendship Center in Merritt, British Columbia on the shared traditional territories of the Nłeʔkepmx and Sylix.

Raising $2,500 will allow The Conayt Friendship Center to send five youth and a chaperone to Gathering Our Voices, a two day conference that brings indigenous youth from across Canada together to learn, explore and engage with culture.

Over the past few years The Conayt Friendship Center has not had the funds to send Merritt youth to the conference. The community in Merritt has welcomed Bass Coast to the area for the past 8 years. By donating and downloading tracks, you are making a lasting, positive impact on the lives of local youth at a vital time.
