Melodrama is the second studio album by New Zealand singer Lorde, released on 16 June 2017 through Republic Records. Lorde wrote and produced the album alongside Jack Antonoff, with additional production contributions from Frank Dukes, Malay, Andrew Wyatt, Joel Little and Flume, among others.

In December 2013, Lorde announced that she had begun writing material for her second studio album. In June 2014, Lorde said that her second studio album was in its early stages and that, so far, it was "totally different" from her debut album. In November 2016, Lorde posted a Facebook update that read: "Writing Pure Heroine was my way of enshrining our teenage glory, putting it up in lights forever so that part of me never dies, and this record – well, this one is about what comes next. ...The party is about to start. I am about to show you the new world." Lorde revealed the title of the album on 2 March 2017. The album was recorded over an 18-month period with co-writer and co-producer Jack Antonoff.

The album is about a "grapple with loneliness" in the aftermath of a break-up, according to the New York Times. In the article, Lorde mentions that "Melodrama wasn’t a 'breakup album" and stated that "it’s a record about being alone. The good parts and the bad parts, dealing with themes of heartbreak and solitude".

How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful é o terceiro álbum de estúdio da banda inglesa Florence and the Machine, lançado a 29 de maio de 2015 através da Island Records. O disco, editado três anos após o seu antecessor, foi produzido por Markus Dravs, com o auxílio de Paul Epworth na faixa de encerramento, "Mother".

sobre os temas do álbum, Welch disse em um comunicado de imprensa, " eu acho que, embora eu sempre tratei da fantasia e metáfora quando eu ia escrever, as músicas desta vez estão lidando muito mais com a realidade. Ceremonials estava tão obcecado em morte e água, e a idéia de fuga ou transcendência através da morte, mas o novo álbum tornou-se sobre a tentativa de aprender a viver, e como amar no mundo ao invés de tentar escapar dele. o que é assustador, porque eu não estou me escondendo atrás de nada, mas isso parecia algo que eu tinha que fazer "
Welch disse a Zane Lowe também que o produtor Markus Dravs a proibiu de escrever mais canções sobre a água. no entanto, ela conseguiu incluir referências sobre isso em "Ship to Wreck" para o registro do álbum.
