This is the first of three, and the more 'fun' of em all - The focus on this song is as the title suggests, it's a bit of a flip on the vocals used throughout the verse. 
From gritty raps, to a lower, soft sung note - kinda jumping around 'Parkour'(freerunning) style. The hook, touches on my imagination, and where I find my mind - more often in the realm of fiction than reality. Among the elven and the dwarves. 
 I'm just trying to see what works in the end. Let me know if it doesn't.

Parkour: Produced By Kick Back [Lyrics in description]

November 9, 1993 will forever go down as one of the greatest days in hip hop history.  Two of the genre’s most revered albums dropped on the same day:  Wu-Tang Clan’s debut ‘Enter The 36 Chambers’, &  A Tribe Called Quest’s third LP ‘Midnight Marauders’.  I remember riding my bike to the mall, with money I had earned from my after-school job.  I had anticipated this day for awhile, and saved up in advance to pick up both albums (at that age $40 felt like $500).  For the months that followed, both albums fought for playing time on my boombox.  One moment, I was transported to the boulevard of Linden, and the next to the rugged streets of Shaolin.  Those albums stayed in my rotation forever (literally).
To mark the 25th anniversary of both LP’s, I thought it might be a good idea to try and take the vocals from Wu-Tang’s album, and blend them over the instrumentals from Midnight Marauders.  I wasn’t sure it would work at first, but as is usually the case, inspiration hit at midnight when I was trying to sleep (the coincidence of the timing is not lost on me).  A couple of hours later, I managed to pair up every single Wu-Tang vocal with a suitable beat from MM.  The intent was not to improve on the originals in any way….that would be impossible, as I consider them both to be perfect bodies of work.  Rather, it was about orchestrating a fun concept, and putting a totally new spin on these well-worn classics.  The contrast of Wu’s gritty street raps over Tribe’s jazzy production works in an unexpected way.  Now, I present to you my personal tribute to these legendary groups:   A Clan Called Wu - “Enter The Marauders”.

Lately, I've become much more 'aware' of the true nature of the world. 
Through my own ventures, and vicariously seeing through others -- 

This song is about facing up to that, the reality of the world. And how, things like 'Honor' no longer exist. In fact, the ego - has replaced it almost entirely, it's switched to it's inherent opposite... Now rather than having a sense of honor, guide individuals, it's a Sense of shame, that guides them. 

In the sense, that they are always trying to keep shame at their back, and 'beat' it in a race. But, It doesn't work like that in all ways.. And from this, we can see true suffering stem. 

The hook, speaks plainly, on the decline of not only the physical use, of the Samurai - But also the decline of their spirit. Thanks to the introduction of powder weapons, their way of life; Bushido - was forever changed. And how I, myself feel this way, about the world today. 

I am a Samurai, in decline. 
All of my years growing up, I was always told so much - 
Told to dream, told to pursue my dreams, - and that to have a dream is one of the single most defining things a child could have. What do you want to be when you grow up? 

I feel cheated. I've spent now, all my life dreaming, trying to figure this out.. and I just feel like I was distracted. Now, caught in the maelstrom of life - your dream, can turn into exactly that - A dream. 

I have to un-learn, what I have been taught, and try and see things in a new light. A realistic light. 

AND THINK. Think. Perceive. Understand, but not for gain - for only the sake of understanding. 

Do not be afraid to think, fear is your minds worst web.
