Amelie Lens @ Awakenings Festival 2018 (01-07-2018)

"Juniper" was a very fun track to write. I like writing melancholic melodies and creating weird textures. I also tried to imitate wooden sounds throughout the track. I found some influence in a juniper bonsai tree when writing this track - how bizarre it can look, how the stems can be all contorted, but the leaves are beautiful. It takes quite a long time to grow and taking care of it can be tedious. I found similarities to how long it takes someone to be good at a certain skill, nurturing and slowly molding their craft. This song is to represent the everlasting growth of an artist.

Ok friends..  Here goes.  Two tracks are downloadable here at the following link...  Please don't use these as your back beat to try and sell a song. We should not have to say this but..  Here is a current metaphor for those who need it:  Don't be the monopolizing on others, toilet paper/ hand sanitizer hoarding douche.  

We aren't charging for this, or our live streams, as we just want people to be well, have an outlet and come together in this forced isolation.  Have fun.  Send this to your friends. Parents, PLEASE DO THIS WITH YOUR KIDS.  

You don't need an interface, nor computer.  Play this loudly on your stereo and play and record what you come up with on your phone recorder app (or whatever you have to record) as you go.
 
Use it as a beat to collaborate with your guitar, bass, piano, beatbox, trash can playing, singing/ screaming/ rapping friends.  Etc. Etc. Etc.  Cut it.  Use flex mode.  Destroy it.

Just be CREATIVE and let us hear the outcome.  We are going to pick our top 5 favorites and repost and also add to them if we hear a melody or beat.  This is an open collaboration SO GOOOOO!!  Bleed out all your feelings and go nuts.

p.s. This is us raw.  You can slightly hear vocals in the background as this was based off of one of our songs.  Not fixing it.  

p.i.s.s.  We did not use a click track as we know each other musically and want more than anything to keep feeling and a human element number one in our music, in every aspect.  The "industry standard" is not our standard.  Sorry /not sorry..
