Dear friends of electronic dance music, before you listen to the latest edition of the Berlin Report, I would like to especially thank Nico Medina for providing me with his not yet published track as the opening for my set. Color Ray is the moniker of progressive and deep house producer and DJ, Shrinivas Sundar aka Vas. With a background in music stretching back to the age of 15, Color Ray is a true artist with a propensity for songwriting and innovative production concepts. While handling guitar duties in the early half of the last decade, Shrinivas was the fundamental force behind the musical direction of diverse homegrown bands like Depths of Suffering, Nemesis, and Blackhole Theory. After discovering and revisiting electronic dance music inspirations like Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed & Cid Inc, he honed his focus towards a new and fresh musical style that gave birth to this alias. 

Color Ray’s music is unique & experimental, combining sounds from deep house, tech house, tribal tech, progressive house, soulful house and techno. The harmony, contemplative moods and sounds are inspired from the guitar reverberations echoing in his mind, which laid the foundations for his tunes. This combined with a natural talent for music production has paved the way for cutting-edge and standout tracks. 

His high profile remixes for Andre Sobota’s “Fragments” (Particles), Tanseer’s “Both Sides” (Juicebox Music), Biologik’s “Sarin” (Particles) & his collaborative remix of Ziger’s “Razor” (Juicebox Music) with Praveen Achary earned him numerous accolades amongst fellow DJs & Producers as well as on Beatport & media outlets. Color Ray has firmly established himself as one of the most forward-thinking producers and DJs from India, with support from across the scene from international artists like Hernan Cattaneo, Sahar Z, Sasha Le Monnier, Kobana, Marcelo Vasami and renowned Indian artists like Vinayak^A, Praveen Achary and Vipul Angirish, to name a few. 

Having launched his own show “Prism” on one of the world’s leading internet radio stations - Proton Radio, a show which takes you on a colorful journey through music with mixes not bound to any specific genre but bound to your soul, Color Ray’s ‘Prism’ mixes have been a firm favorite amongst fans. His technique transcends to on the on-ground domain where he has played in various venues across the country alongside artists like Hernan Cattaneo, Oliver Molden, Spektre, Proff, James Harcourt & many more. He was also invited to play at ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event), Europe’s biggest dance music gathering, in 2011 at the blueFROG “India meets West” night. His distinctive approach to playing live as well as his unequivocal passion about subversive sounds takes his live sets to an ultimate parallel and brings the audiences to their feet, leaving them wanting for more. 

With forthcoming releases planned on some amazing labels Color Ray has demonstrated that he is destined to be one of the finest deep & progressive house exports from India.

Performing live for decades, Toronto based DJ Producer, Amber Long, has trademarked a sound that is svelte and uniquely her own. Sought after globally and supported by big name artists like; Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Aly & Fila, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, her lyrics, voice and productions are well known amongst the Underground Music Community. Passionate and animated, Amber is the living demonstration of an artist who loves her work passionately and intensely and continually tears up dance floors across the world.  
Long broke into the international DJ scene playing at Ministry of Sound in London, followed shortly thereafter with gigs in; Qatar, Greece, the Netherlands, Israel, Argentina, the USA, Mexico, Jamaica, and Spain - with more countries added to the growing tour list each year. Amber’s live vocals at Ministry of Sound set her apart from other DJs on the scene as one of the only female producers to perform live vocals during a set. ADE 2016 and 2017 and in Bahrein Buenos Aires were treated to this one of a kind performance her fans have come to know and love. Long sings live for what she deems special occasions.  
Aside from DJing globally, Amber Long runs Toronto-based independent labels; Modern Agenda, Modern Architect and Honey Drops – all brands that focus on giving back to their large roster of artists. Modern Agenda is rapidly becoming a go-to label for music lovers and artists alike and Honey Drops carries a different flavor, encouraging artists to share their ambient and down tempo creations.

Adam’s songs have surfaced on fittingly named labels like Magician on Duty, Dream Culture and L’Enfant Terrible, among others. A regular fixture of East Coast festivals (Piknic Electronik, Eclipse, Summerdaze, AIM, Igloofest, Liberty…), his wanderings have also leaded to performances in LA, Paris, Cairo, Istanbul, Vancouver, NY, Burning Man…

For six years, his impact on the Montreal scene has solidified with the growth of Husa Sounds. This electronic music collective and blog is dedicated to curating and nurturing underground artistic experiences, whether intimate local showcases or multidisciplinary raves in abandoned venues - among which a boarding school and a church. Husa Sounds has collaborated with Be-At.TV as well as summoned a steady steam of celestial deep house artists, from Jon Talabot to Miyagi, SuperFlu to Oona Dahl.

Meanwhile, Adam’s diverse sets, conspicuous productions and thumping basslines continue crackling into the night.
