It's the first full moon of 2025 and we have @milkteacentral on the decks blending techno, guaracha, breaks, bass and bubbly club sounds to fire up the year. It's a full moon in cancer with a mars retrograde, so a spicy start to the year, but milktea's keeping things very cute for us all – lock in and have a dance to this! 💞

Kamila Narysheva aka milktea is one of the key artists of the contemporary Central Asian music scene.  As a DJ milktea believes that the dancefloor is a judgment-free zone and should be a place of power for everyone. This manifests through her approach to her music: playfully mixing diverse genres to create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone involved. She is an active advocate for equality and anti-sexism in creative spheres and music. Most preferable genres of milktea are: techno, guaracha, breaks, bass/club, dark disco, indie dance.
milktea not only performs at both local and international scenes but also strives to use her medium as a platform for addressing socially important matters. This commitment led her to found local party series for FLINTA artists called 'Don't Be A Dick’ (DBAD) with a line-up of femme-identifying artists exclusively. DBAD is a 100% non-profit charity event. All proceeds from DBAD go to charity, specifically benefiting women's shelters and associations for women's rights protection.

milktea also hosts a resident show about Central Asian music called “Heartland” on Berlin's Refuge Worldwide radio station. It airs every three months and is mostly discursive and differs in topics. In this show she covers social and political issues, topics of gender and self-identity in Central Asia. She has also guested on other radio stations such as Noods Radio, Radio80000, Voices Radio, Shella Radio, Tracklistings on Deep Space Radio, Infame Radio and others.
milktea has previously performed at Kolfest in Kyrgyzstan, Faust club in Seoul, South Korea, Collect, Santos in Lisbon, Portugal, Sahika and Noh Radio in Istanbul, Turkey, Rebel Community events in Tirana, Albania, as well as many parties in Almaty, Kazakhstan, including 303 (with Pornceptual and Veselka), Shulama, Vihod and ZVUK as well as many night clubs in aforementioned Subject and Bult.

milktea (Kamila Narysheva) is a sound artist and DJ based in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Her practice spans spatial sound, installation and performance, exploring memory, infrastructures and digital isolation through a decolonial lens. Her sets move playfully across techno, guaracha, breaks and bass/club, treating the dancefloor as a judgment-free space and a site of collective power.

This mix was recorded at home. It moves through breaks, bass, guaracha and techno influences, with tracks from Central Asia, the SWANA region and Latin America. The set is guided by unexpected combinations, intuitive shifts in energy and a focus on what feels engaging in the moment rather than a single style.
