New year, fresh Onyx tunage! We’ve got something special to shake off your January blues.

An up-and-coming US talent the scene is seriously sleeping on right now, AIRGLO kicks off our 2022 release schedule with his Innit EP – a release telling you all you need to know about the raucous sonics this producer is capable of. Rollers, jump up, liquid – you name it, AIRGLO’s music weaves elements of it all. It’s a sense of variety reflecting the producer’s background as ‘a citizen of the world’ who has grown up in countries including Israel, Armenia and the US – where he lives today.

They say variety is the spice of life, and Innit is an EP proving exactly that. Whether it’s the frantic energy of “Whale Chewn” – a track inspired by time spent watching killer whale documentaries – or the more the liquid tones of “Only You” (Feat. Rosebud) demonstrating a more delicate side to AIRGLO’s music, there’s something for everyone to enjoy on this EP.

One of Viper's most recent and most promising signings is Berlin based Millbrook, who made his Viper debut earlier this year with ‘The Rise’ and ‘Refractions’, followed closely by ‘Rituals’, ‘Beyond’, and his recent remix for Matrix & Futurebound themselves.
With such a successful year already, there is no denying Millbrook has proven consistently he is one to watch. His latest offering to the label comes in the way of ‘Never Forget’, showcasing yet another different side to the producer’s many talents. Leading with tribal drums , the track sets a visceral tone from the start while Takura’s vocals add to the raw energy early on. Slowly building in complexity and intrigue, Millbrook’s signature cinematic sounds are still heavily present throughout the track despite exploring different textures and vibes.
Of course, the drop is certainly recognizable to the producer’s already distinct sounds; there is an impressive depth to the production that is sure to keep Millbrook on the map for many more months to come. With incredibly clean production and inventive ideas, there is no doubting Futurebound has discovered yet another diamond in the rough with Millbrook, and this latest release is certainly no exception.

Upgrade’s return to Serial Killaz is like a long lost friend coming back for one last bonkers session. Whatever this guy does simply oozes quality but not the glossy, hand buffed type you may be thinking, no way mate, not in a million years. Upgrade’s production is simply a combination of a raw, no fucks given attitude and years of doing whatever he wants and quite simply - it works. One of the many reasons he’s always welcome at our door.

‘Base’ has already had an exclusive via UKF and caused countless posts of upset regarding the spelling of everyone's favourite frequency. Simply put, if you like a double bass and a ton of heavy breakbeats to knock your block off - this one you. ‘Function’ harks back to Upgrade’s jungle roots with a hard slap of trademark Serial Killaz. A tune no doubt made with the label in mind.

The EP title track ‘First Request’ changes direction, flips the script and does a 360 headspin. Muddy bass, hints of classic beats and some epic percussion makes this a go to intro tune. Listen carefully and you might even get a taste of some Bristol influence here.

Slicing up the end, Upgrade comes with ‘Gangbeasts’ alongside Newcastle donny Scudd. Engage the rebels, stick your head down, embrace the haze and get down to this. Darkside business.

Having first graced René LaVice's Device imprint back in the summer of 2020, Bristol-based Halflight returns to the tastemaker label with 'All I Need'. Fast-paced from the get-go, 'All I Need' has all the elements for an epic drum and bass anthem! A beautifully structured piano sequence along with an emotive vocal line come together in monumental fashion. On the flip side, the 'VIP Mix' boasts a grittier take on the original featuring jungle drum work and rattling bass, built with the dancefloor in mind.
